That said, I have a plasma and have left the TV on accidently for over a day on the loading screen and its fine now. There was a slight ghost on black screens for about 2 min after I came back, but just watching normal TV got rid of that. Most modern plasmas don't have burn in issue unless its really extreme.

As for playing a game, even with the constant scoreboard, I have never had a problem.

lol thats some tv!

Also, for those looking at TVs, remember Plasma refresh rate =/= LCD refresh rate
200MHz, 200Hz. They're the same thing, right?

(That's a pretty bad mistake for an EE to make, but in my defense I design CPUs and I'm used to GHZ, not this Hz stuff).

lol, its all good. I wouldnt have noticed except I'm only reading these forums to avoid writing my aeroacoustics paper. We deal with those 'low' numbers a lot!

Can anyone confirm that? It sounded rather odd to me, but then again, I'm no television expert. But now, I am hearing that the game looks great on Plasma and not on others.

Color me confused!?!?!?!
Plasmas, at least the good ones, have mechanisms in place to prevent this. You'd have to leave it on the screen for hours upon hours without turning it off before you'd see any hint of it while watching something else.

The game looks super crisp on my own TV because it is a plasma screen. The XBox just looks much better on the plasma screen in my opinion.
Is this how it is with everyone else on their LCD televisions?

To be honest, I believe plasma is much better looking than LCD. Don't me ask why, but I just feel this way. Also, I've always felt that LCD and Plasma screen TVs look better when they are smaller (around 19" - 24"). Just my opinion.

Thanks to both of you for the responses! Much appreciated!

It will also depend on what setting they have the TV on. I doubt that they spend much time optimizing the screen settings.

Take this for what it's worth, but I have tons of problems with Panasonic VT25. I broke it in for 300 hours and calibrated it before even using it, and while gaming for some reason has never caused a problem, if I watch ESPN for even an hour or two that stupid logo is stuck on my screen for weeks. Don't even get me started on the TBS and Encore logos.

I've tried turning down the contrast, turning up the brightness, I've set the pixel orbiter to every minute... nothing. The PS3 screen will cause a slight ghost image after only a couple of minutes. At first I thought this was maybe a situation where my TV just needed more break-in time, but I've had the thing for 9 months now and still have the same issues.
