It's a thin line EA can walk with this. If the power schools always swoop in on your Gem finds people will complain about the CPU always knowing who is good, but if the CPU just recruits based off of the initial rating people will complain about that.

Are you talking about the little blue diamond that shows up when you're looking at players? All that means is that all you have to do is recruit him to get into his top 10.

No, now if you scout a guy and his overall goes up a certain amount it labels him as a gem for you.

In the preseason most recruits only have a list of about 1-3 teams. If you find guys that don't have heavy interest in anyone else you can get yourself onto their list. It really makes you have to search and pick out guys for your list since you can only find guys that have you number 1 or two initially.

I feel this system is a good start but if they add in the variable of dynamic progression then it would be complete.

Another thing I would be interested in seeing is if gems are tied to certain people or just completely random. Meaning if you notice someone named "James Hanson" and is a gem and turns out after your progression test to become awesome, if I see the same name in my game if he will turn out the same.
