Am I the only one who has seen recruits like this?
As a real life example, the Green Bay Packers have a WR named James Jones who will routinely make spectacular catch (see last nights game against the Texans), but drop easy, wide open looks.

So you found a WR who can't catch. Why is this a thing? Take him off your board. Or don't.

a player with a higher catch in traffic rating then his catching rating does not mean he will be more likely to make a catch if its in traffic

catching is just catching in general. the higher, the more likely he is to make ANY type of catch

catch in traffic and spectacular catch are just modifiers for when he does attempt those specific types of catches

a player with 50 catching and 99 catch in traffic will drop almost everything, even in traffic

That's why I only listed the skills that would factor into my decision to put him at WR, although I will entertain the idea using him at a HB but he'll probably never see the field.

Please only respond to this if you're actually going to provide some input to the central question about the rating system used to create recruits.
So what do you want us to do? Just agree with you and say, "Yea, the ratings suck on recruits sometimes"? You just found one guy that was randomly created with extreme differences in his ratings. That's all. Why are you even recruiting this guy if you know he can't play defense, he won't see the field at RB, and you think he's awful as a WR because "he can't catch"? A lot of people in this thread gave you very good answers as to why this recruit is the way he is: It's random.

NO! If you read all of my posts you would know what my point is. The logic used to create recruits doesn't make sense sometimes. One of the first few replies pointed out that catch in traffic, spectacular catch, etc were all modifiers and that made sense to me. The thread really should've died there, but I kept getting replies of play him here, what are his ratings for this, blah blah blah. Better question, why the Hell even respond like you did? If it chaps your *** that much don't read or respond.
