I cranked the volume up on my dads 1980's speakers that have two big speakers on my floor. And let me tell you, it was possibly the best sound I have ever heard come out of a video game. These settings are truly great if you have physical speakers in your area. And my speakers aren't even 5.1 surround! Hope you guys try it out! Can't wait to get it Tuesday and add custom stadium sounds from secelite
Tried these on the PS3 version, sounded great-good stuff.

Do the speakers make the crowd react to a holding call against the away team to negate a touchdown?

Do the speakers make the crowd cheer loud throughout a pick six from one end of the field to the next?

Do the speakers make the crowd cheer touchdowns differently than other big plays?

My point is that the crowd can sound pretty good, even without good speakers during the planned times when they get loud. But the problem with the atmosphere is that the awareness of the crowd is pretty awful, so they don't cheer when they are supposed to or react dynamically while a play is still going on. Too many times I score a touchdown and their cheering is still monotone.

Increasing the volume, or surrounding me with that sound doesn't fix that.

Appreciate the suggestions for intensity, but the issues I have with the crowd can only be fixed by EA themselves.
No, they don't - in my suggestion as to a modestly priced surround sound system I didn't want to imply that having one would magically make the crowd sound great.

The crowd noise that used to be pretty good has been completely messed up. Last year I at least liked the concept of the swells and where they could head with that new audio track (supposedly with the help from the FIFA team) but that disappeared this year. Now we're back to square one and, as you mentioned, is not nearly as intuitive as it should be.

Re: Sound and Atmosphere - is great w/True 5.1 Speakers

I'll tell you what, my wife has some bose wireless headphones that were sitting in the corner unused.

Last night i really felt like jamming the sound, i grabbed the headphones, and let it rip, and i have to say, the crowd noise was really awesome sounding, and basically well timed.

I used my normal volume settings on the game, however i turned the commentary down further than usual and i was very plesantly surprised.

I have a pretty nice 7.1 system in the basement, and i never really get fulfilled with the atmosphere, and then if i really do crank it up, the sub just thuds obnoxiously at times.

I wont play again without the headphone. The trash talk was outstanding, and again, the crowd just rocked the game.

I thought about this thread when i was grabbing the headphones, thought id post.

Been reading and understand all that is said but fellas it is not the speakers, it the receiver, or what ever you are using to decode the signal now, if you have a nice 7.1 receiver you gotta go in and adjust your frequency settings to get the sound you get with the headphones. you can youtube to get the proper settings.

Re: Sound and Atmosphere - is great w/True 5.1 Speakers

I have been using an audio system with gaming since the PS1 days. I upgrade my system when needed. My Sub woofer alone cost $400, next upgrade will be my receiver, it doesn't support HDMI, only optical.

Great audio is mandatory for both Movies and Gaming for me.
