What TV settings do you use to make your game look better?

I did A LOT of experimenting with this the last few days to get the absolute most out of my graphics in NCAA 14 and this is what I came up with.....I realize that everyone is playing on a different TV so everyone might have different settings and experiences with this, but this is what worked best for me.....

Make sure its set to 1080 and not 720 if you have an HD TV (hopefully also you have an HDMI cord which makes all the difference)

Backlight 30 (or whatever the highest setting is for yours)
Contrast 100
Brightness 30
Color 35
Tint 0
Sharpness 10

Go to your advanced settings and turn off the Color Enhancement option, this really adds a nice shadow effect to the look of the game

When testing this make sure you set your games as Day games (either 12:00 or 3:30) because thats what you want to use as your base testing

It makes brighter uniforms look bright and vivid
Perfect example is teams like North Carolina and teams like Tennessee, They look much smoother and the overall tone of the uniform looks better

It makes teams mean't to have darker uniforms look that way
Perfect example is Virginia Tech's home uniforms, if you go look at EA's screenshots of them they are basically a light purple looking color which is wrong, if you look up Virginia Tech's uniforms on google you'll see that they are supposed to be much darker, this also applies to teams like Texas A&M

It also makes the grass/turf look better in my opinion.....

This is just what works best for my TV and has really made all the difference in the way my game looks

Have you tweaked your settings at all? and if so what do you do?

Re: What TV settings do you use to make your game look better?

FIrst of all I would recommend a plasma for a football game or gaming in general (Samsung or Panasonic) second of all, if you are using an audioquest HDMI cable (I recommend Cinnamon or better, I use Chocolate) you are automatically going to get close to the best picture your TV can accomplish.

So I would think about grabbing an audioquest cable the cheapest one you can get is around 30?

I do agree with the Plasma Tv but disagree with your HDMI choice:

Here is what ToptenReviews has to say about Audioquest cables:

Summary:
The AudioQuest High-Speed with Ethernet HDMI Cable seems impressive at first glance, particularly because of the high price of its top-end models. However, the cable is missing some important design components that affect its conductivity. It doesn't include gold-plated connectors at each end, which could expose them to corrosion over time. In addition, the cable lacks important certifications in the industry.

Hdmi is hdmi. A $1000 hdmi cable will be no different than a $3 hdmi cable.

There are many many many tech studies done on this. Never pay more than mono....price...

Dead wrong buddy.

Plug a good tv (Maybe a Samsung 7100) using a Audioquest Cinnamon Cable into an xbox and plug the same 7100 into an xbox using a 10 dollar hdmi cable and play the same demo and you will Vastly see the difference. You are FOOLISH if you honestly believe all HDMI cables are the sam, I do this for a living.

Re: What TV settings do you use to make your game look better?

All HDMI cables will all deliver literally the exact same picture. Anyone who tells you differently is either trying to sell you something or got sold something.

Edit: To expand, an HDMI signal is a digital signal. It either gets there or it doesn't. If you used to watch TV on old rabbit ears you know what an analog signal looks like; depending on how they were positioned, how far you were away, the weather, etc the picture would be better or worse. Go plug in rabbit ears now and you won't see any of that because the signal is now digital. You get a picture or you don't. The 1s and 0s get there or they don't. It is an absolute fact and you can go look up test after test online to see that they're the same.
