EA Sports liscensing deal with Collegiate Liscensing Company.

This article was ran in 2005. The article states that the deal was a six year contract, meaning it should be up after this year. 2006 was the first game made under the contract.

So is the contract up? Personally I'm hoping the NCAA decides not to renew it, given that 2K Sports has done so well with their own games. It would be nice to have the competition for NCAA football.

I don't think it has been extended, but it won't matter. 2k is not going to be making a college football game. They'd have to build it from the ground up and I doubt they've been working on a game secretly the last few years.

No one else is going to be making college football games. EA Sports has a monopoly on the CFB game market. Even when teams like 989 Sports were making "NCAA Gamebreaker", EA Sports still sold the most and made the best games. With the way NCAA 12 looks, EA Sports is actually striving to make the game the best it can be and even if another studio did try for it, they would be too far behind already.

I dont anyone will be making college games besideds ncaa. The NCAA market doesnt sell well. Mainly because of not being able to use likeness. 2kHoops was a great game(never played it, but got it, but ps3 messed up).
The only way I see 2k making a college game is if they was planning on making a NFL game in the future and want to see how their engines work.

I don't. Backbeaker already has a hard tim running standard run plays for positive yardage after greathouse. I can't imagine the horror that would be trying to run option plays

Of course we would have to have better player models... Why doesn't EA and Euphoria team up?!?! One focuses on the engine, the other on the graphics/presentation. They can meet in the middle. LOL.
