FYI…PSU attendance has been trending down and last year they averaged less than 100k per game. They will be worse in 2013 than in 2012…

OSU blew PSU out…before a late PSU TD made the game look respectable.

With all that said…most of their defense, which was the strength of their team is gone.

Top 50 recruiting class? Come on...
They also landed a 4* WR, I believe for next year. I don't keep that up to date with recruiting, though. My uncle just poste something on Facebook about the WR.

And even if they "only" haul in 95k or so a game, that fr more than most other teams can even dream of. If i were a recruit, Id take 7 home games in front of that over a trip to some half filled stadium in Mew Mexico for a bowl game.

A Top 50 recruiting class, with about 140 teams, is pretty solid.

PSU will not be contending for a national title, but 7-9 wins is not unrealistic.

Even with the dropping attendance, Penn State still ranked #5 in the nation avg attendance. http://www.pennlive.com/pennstatefoo...annual_at.html

With that said, they had the #17 recruiting class and just signed 3 WR for next year so how can you justify dropping them. A 5* freshman QB coming in and coming off a 8-4 season tells me that some of you are reaching.

Ohio State was on probation, Oregon will be, FSU was on it, USC as well, and almost very major program was on probation at some point and they didn't drop the slightest. And if school hasn't gone on probation, they haven't been caught yet. Give it time.

And as a Penn State alum, WE ARE! ONETEAM!

#17th recruiting class on what service? Scout.com had them at 46th in the country and 7th in the Big Ten. Probation is one thing, but having no bowl game and having not only reduced scholarships AND reduced roster spots is going to be BRUTAL for this team moving forward. Especially with the re-aligned divisions in the Big Ten. PSU is now in the same division with Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers and Indiana. Good luck with that.

Make no mistake…Penn State's future is not a bright one while they have those roster and bowl penalties.

Kids selecting schools do so for different reasons…playing in a major bowl game/playoffs is one of them. Not for all, but for a lot.

My apologies, that's supposed to 17 recruits, but they did have the #24 recrutinging class according to ESPN. A lot of kids go to schools because of tradition, playing time and exposure. Bowl games and all that are good, but if the kid ain't getting on the field all that means nothing.

It was obviously way more than that. Sandusky wasn't the only reprehensible douche bag in that scandal.

Covering up a coaches off the field crimes to ensure the program isn't affected is cheating.

The culture of PSU lead to decades worth of child abuse.
