Yes, the game will not generate any recruits until you enter that screen in-game.

Ok thanks.

Found this only after I simmed to 2017 so I only had high rated JRs declaring for the draft.

Hey mjavon, love the work you are doing man! I was wondering if you would be able to add some randomness to player attributes to give a semi real life feel for player progression. All of the players basically progress the same. Their is an entire thread on the subject and with your programming ability it seems like it would be possible with just a click of a few buttons. There is a manual offseason progression thread on this site talking all about it. Thanks again for all of your work!

I had looked at that before, and it's definitely possible. Just need to do a bit more research, and figure out how to design a good interface for that.

The awareness bump I gave to recruits was fairly straightforward because it's just one attribute, but with progression I think you have to ask questions like:

- What attributes progress for a particular position (on average) and how much?
- Does it vary by class?
- Does it vary by player type?

This analysis is necessary before I can code a module so I can keep it balanced.

The discipline (PDIS) variable could be informative for an application such as this. Per khaliib in this post, it does this:

Quote:
- affects the mental side of the player (per Raw Data)
-Def players bite, misread plays, take horrible pursuit angles etc...
-Off players miss blocks, run wrong routes, drop passes, fumble etc...
It is a scale from 0 to 6, with 6 the "least [likely] to make mistakes". It may be a good variable to base progression because it seems to be randomly distributed across the range of player. In this random roster file I have, the correlations with Discipline are 0.0417 for Overall rating and 0.193 for Awareness rating. It may be that roster edits I impose (several zeroed-out attributes) alter the Overall correlation but none of the edits I perform (directly) impact Awareness (but could potentially influence progression of Awareness year-to-year, I don't know). Only players with Discipline = 0 have an average Overall significantly different than the other levels of discipline. All others are statistically similar in regards to mean Overall.

Hence, players with higher Discipline ratings might benefit more from progression adjustments. A system such as that would separate the elite 5-stars from less remarkable 5-stars and also enhance the 'more disciplined' average 2- or 3-start player.

Just a thought. Again, great work.

So do I save the actual dynasty as a CSV file? I'm sorry I'm confused...

No, you export the CSV files from the dynasty editor. There is a seperate thread for how to do that, linked in the OP.

Thanks! I'm so excited to try this. I run this process in pre season, correct?
