Haha man im not going to even lie, that was part of it. I've never seen you play anything else.

I think I'm going to end up just buying this one. I've got a good feeling about it.

Have you played the demo, yet? If not i recommend you do. Based on the demo alone, i think Fifa 10 could very well be the most realistic sports game of ANY sport.

you should definately get it bro,

i could see why fifa would interest new fans becuase itf football on crack....

hell i despise baseball but that game "the bigs" is so much fun i had to play it....

the unrealistic version of new sports is always fun, imagine if i gave you nba street and told you it represented basketball

It's the best online sports experience IMO except when you're playing Blax.

yeah bro, you should definitely buy this game.

it's the easiest way for you to learn this sport, and also notice next year is world cup of football year... so maybe until than you will already understand it enough to enjoy it better and watch great games.

i am another example of how this can work, i knew nothing about baseball or hockey until i played on videogames... i enjoy both games now... they are not my fav sports, but i know the rules, know the teams, the players even some tactics... so why not.

As someone who learned about CFB through the greatness of NCAA Football 2004, do it.

Re: I know nothing about soccer. Would you recommend this game?

I've always though that sport video games were a great way to get into the actual sport. I played soccer though out most of high school, mostly just because it was a great way to get in shape before the baseball season started. I never actually cared to pay any attention to professional soccer though. And I really just didn't care about it unless I was at my own practice or game.

Then in like 2005 I bought FIFA 06 for pc and really had fun playing the Manager Mode with Man U(they were the only team I recognized, lol). By the time the World Cup came around a few months later I was really starting to become interested in the sport. I bought the WC 2006 game and I really got into the World Cup. I ended up watching almost every game I could on TV. I was recognizing most of the players from the FIFA games and really starting to understand the strategy and how the other leagues around the world worked.

After the WC was over I upgraded my cable service so that I could start watching games on FSC, I started watching the Champions League on ESPN, and even a few MLS game as well. I did a little more research online to learn about the major leagues in Europe, and ever since then soccer has been one of my favorite sports. I watch a ton of games on tv, and I buy FIFA/PES every year.

Sorry for the life story, but I would definitely recommend buying FIFA as a gateway into the sport.

Re: I know nothing about soccer. Would you recommend this game?

Guys, I have a similar question. Unlike the OP, I am familiar with soccer. Played for about 12 years starting at about age 6. I wasn't usually gifted enough to be a star player but I feel like I could definitely grasp the strategy and all. I love watching the World Cup and some of the best times in my life were watching Champions League games in various Irish pubs. The last soccer game that I bought was WC2006 (still have it actually). I played the demo for this the other day and it really felt a LOT more natural than what I remembered from previous games and I'm pretty sure that I'll be picking it up today.

Anyway, my question is: do you think this game could be a good way to learn the structures of the different leagues and all? I'm talking relegation, promotion, transfer windows, etc. I have a very basic understanding of the concepts but not so much how they actually work and the rules surrounding them. I tried getting into Football Manager a few years ago but I just got WAY overwhelmed with it all.

On a related side note, does anyone else wish that some of the "major" US sports would use the whole relegation/promotion concept?
