Driven Shot outside of Set Pieces?

Is there anyway to get a solid, driven shot in normal gameplay. I understand how to do it on Free Kicks, but can I do it outside of Free Kicks?

This is possible. If you don't shoot with the finesse button you are going to do a driven shot. You will need to hit the topspin on it as you shoot to keep it down. Timing is important, but body shape is probably the most important. I try to kick the ball in front of me just a little so I can align myselt with the ball.

Which direction would I need to push on the stick to make top spin. Say I'm running towards the right side of the screen with a shot straight on, so I'm holding the left stick to the right. Where do I push it to get top spin?

you will need to make sure you are pushing up as much as you can from your position on the field, or what you shooting preference is (auto, semi, or manual). If it is auto you can push all the way up after shooting and the ball will start to spin easily. Semi and Manual take some time to get. Hope this helps.

But if I pushed up, wouldn't that make my shot curl to left if I am shooting to the right side of the screen?

If you want to hit a hard shot, you need to hold the RT (Sprint) when shooting. Try it in the arena first and you'll see it's a very hard shot. It's also not very accurate

Re: Driven Shot outside of Set Pieces?

Im getting off some rocket shots off using RT and then quickly use RS to guide it and get some viscous spin on the ball.

I wasn't aware that RS does anything when it comes to shooting.
