Re: Why are there two sets of rules?

My original posts was not so much about the cards (it is also true for me that the CPU gets more cards than I do ... but I never slide tackle) - it was more about general fouls during the course of play.

I am frequently de-possessed by challenges which result in my guy getting knocked over (especially so when I am in the attacking third) - and the foul call here is too often missed.

However, the CPU seems to get more ticky-tack calls to go in its favor. It do not care if the officials call a tight game or a loose game - just as long as it is the same for both teams.

I also find the advantage rule to be far more of an advantage to the CPU. What determines the time length for advantage? I swear it is 2 seconds for me and 10 seconds for the CPU.

How many times does one of my players need to get ran over before there is ever a foul called? And when will the ref ever give the CPU a red card. C'mon! But it is not just the case that no fouls are called ... candy-flavored whistles abound when I am making a tackle. It is really like there are two different sets of rule.

What kind of BS is that? Really!?!

And one other thing (while I am in rant mode) ... why is it that I see this type of box score so often ...

CPU / Shots on Target = 2 / Goals = 2
Human / Shots on Target = 8 / Goals = 1

Could we try to be a little more honest here? Please?
This is a big problem online, the ref is totally nuts/blind.
And inside the box you can't get any help from the ref. You can do anything that i a foul as long as you stand up and tackle.
No penalties in FIFA10

Re: Why are there two sets of rules?

I think it's EA's attempt at simulating different types of referees; some that call things tightly and some that don't. Even though it's still not called correctly I do get games where every bit of contact is a foul and game's where my guys get run over and there's no whistle. It just sucks there's no happy medium.

Why this game doesn't have gameplay sliders is beyond me. Would be a top notch game if it did.

Re: Why are there two sets of rules?

I agree. The CPU gets carded much more often than I do, but they get away with some blatant shoves which push me off the ball and get called for it far less often than I would

Re: Why are there two sets of rules?

I agree with Furq - that was my original point.

I have no issue with a card discrepancy ... I almost NEVER use the slide tackle so I get very few cards.

My true complaint is with "regular" fouls. My dudes get knocked over WAY MORE often with no whistle. It makes me sad - some very nice build-ups get ruined by no-calls.
