First off, completely obtainable goals and an alright budget! Glad to see Palacios was signed permanently and Lopez coming in, although he doesn't seem to be impressing you so far. Hopefully that'll change soon enough. I hope that Bigas can grow and become the CB you want so you won't have to splash out on one in the future. Preseason was undefeated which is good although it looked like the team wasn't as fluid in the first 2 games. The B team did really well demolishing Monaco in the last though! Is this the return of Luque?! The season then started well with a good point against Barca. Torres and Guillermo, 2 of your biggest players performing again. Kodro then snatched the points against Espanyol with a trademark header but man that was an unbelievable save from Riesgo! Cordoba looked disappointing and again like your attack wasn't as fluid as it was last season. You've got a nice looking Academy going now too which is great for the future. A good draw in the Europa too and good to see Guillermo finally getting rewarded! . Also damn, the quality of your screenshots are much better than mine.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Moose - Unlucky goal to concede against Stoke, Your defenders had good positioning, but the Stoke player just won the header. You completely outplayed them, but the result just didn't reflect that. Your goal against City was some bad luck to have them slide in from behind to get the ball, but you got it right back and scored it. Their equalizer was one of those annoying goals where you wonder why no one was marking the back post despite 4 defenders standing in the box! Their crosses killed you again on their second goal as well getting all the way to that end line before sending it in. Very tough loss though.

BiloxiSmitty - No losses to open the season, and a draw against Atletico is not a bad result. Tough Champions League group with Bayern and Liverpool both in there. Your scoring has been pretty spread out so far as well. How did you manage to force 2 own goals in the same match!?

Cruzerr - Nice bit of info on the academy graduates coming in. Some impressive transfer business getting an impressive fee for Ulreich, and not overspending on anyone in return. Maxim really picked up right where he left off with goals and assists all around. A perfect month as well taking all points available.

Chico - Reasonable season objectives, and a decent transfer budget. Although, I wish they would have given you a better wage budget to work with. Picking up the option to buy Palacios is a good move, and Lopez and Bigas look like good additions. I'm interested to see how Lopez figures into gameplan and how well he will perform for you. Exciting way to start the season against Barca, and a draw is an impressive result, although being up 2-1 I imagine you were pretty disappointed when Deulofeu got one past you. Solid win over Espanyol, but I can tell you are still trying to sort out having the combo of Guillermo and Palacios together after only scoring 1 in those last 2 matches. You've got 2 youth academy players I've got my eye on in Luis Martinez and Mario Santana. Hopefully that potential stays up in the potential to be special range.

Keano - Some high scoring wins in November and with a couple draws you still held on to an unbeaten month and your spot at the top of the table. December was a different story. You started with a nice 3-1 win, but it went downhill from there. You didn't fall too far back though and I think you can definitely climb back to the top with still half of the season to go. The Copa Del Rey on the other hand was a tough loss to deal with.

Thanks! November was just me adjusting to Legendary I guess and December was just one of those months. I'm nearly finished January now so an update should be up tomorrow/Saturday and you guys will find out if we picked up our form or not. Some moves in the Transfer market to look forward to as well!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Ha Ho He

Transfers Out

Fabian Holland
, sold to Nürnberg for €575,000
Johannes van den Bergh, sold to Fortuna Düsseldorf for €1,200,000
Hajime Hosogai, sold to Hamburger SV for €2,100,000
John Heitinga, sold to Stade Reims for €2,500,000
Jens Hegeler, sold to SC Freiburg for €3,800,000

Transfers In

Abdul Rahman Baba

73 Ovr, Left Back, 21 Years Old, Ghana

€2,000,000 + Marvin Plattenhardt

Hertha BSC were very active in this transfer window and they made nine signings. The cheapest of them was Abdul Rahman Baba who arrived for just two million euros from Augsburg. Hertha's left back Marvin Plattenhardt went the other way in the deal. Baba made his breakthrough last year for Augsburg when he was one of the best left backs of the league. He made about three interceptions and five tackles on average. The 21 year old has potential in him and his speed and attacking way of playing make him a good player.

Leroy Sane

72 Ovr, Attacking Midfielder, 19 Years Old, Germany

€3,000,000

Another youngster who was signed by Hertha Berlin was Schalke's youth product Leroy Sane (who scored against them in real life). Sane is another player who made a name for himself last season. The young attacking midfielder scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League but his team went out on aggregate. The 19 year old is very talented and he is a good dribbler with good passing and finishing skills.

Timo Werner

74 Ovr, Left Winger, 19 Years Old, Germany

€4,000,000 + Ronny

The second 19-year-old Hertha BSC signed was the German attacking gem Timo Werner. The fee for the young player was just four million euros but Ronny, who had problems adjusting to Müller's fast-paced game, joined Stuttgart. Werner is a very exciting player who has spent his entire career with Stuttgart before this summer. He's very pacy, skillful and a good finisher. Everything Hertha need from their winger.

Andre Hoffmann

75 Ovr, Centre Back, 22 Years Old, Germany

€5,000,000

The fourth cheapest signing Hertha BSC made was Andre Hoffmann who joined from Hannover 96. The young German defender has played for the national team in every youth level and he has become an important part of Hannover's defence. Hoffmann was signed mainly for squad depth because of the departure of John Heitinga.

Andre Hahn

77 Ovr, Right Midfielder, 25 Years Old, Germany

€5,000,000 + Roy Beerens

Andre #2 joined Hertha Berlin from their rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach on deadline day for five million euros and Roy Beerens who has been out of form. Hahn, who is the oldest player Hertha signed in the window, is one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga and he helped Borussia Mönchengladbach reach fourth place in the league last season.

Maximilian Arnold

77 Ovr, Central Midfielder, 21 Years Old, Germany

€6,000,000 + Alexander Baumjohann

Maximilian Arnold of VfL Wolfsburg was the third most expensive signing Hertha BSC made in the summer. They payed a relatively small fee of six million euros for him and they sent Baumjohann to Wolfsburg. Arnold, who is a very promising midfielder, is a good passer and he has a strong shot on him. He will probably be rotated with Per Skjelbred in midfield.

Joel Matip

78 Ovr, Centre Back, 24 Years Old, Cameroon

€6,500,000

The second most expensive signing of Hertha's summer was the Cameroonian central defender Joel Matip. The 24-year-old (who also scored against Hertha in real life) has been an important piece of Schalke's defence for the last few years. He has also been part of Schalke's youth teams since the year 2000. Strong, tall and good tackler are just some words that describe Matip.

Josip Drmic

77 Ovr, Striker, 23 Years Old, Switzerland

€12,500,000

The most expensive signing Hertha BSC made in the summer, who also is the most expensive signing in the club's history, is the Croatian-Swiss attacking talent Josip Drmic. The young striker has lots of potential in him and he knows how to find the net. Drmic will be a good backup and future replacement for the ageing in-form striker Salomon Kalou who won the Golden Boot last season.

August 2015

Bayer Leverkusen 0 - 1 Hertha BSC
Kalou 57' pen

The first league game of the season wasn't that exciting. Two good teams faced each other but neither one was able to create that much danger. The game was decided ten minutes after half time when Timo Werner dribbled inside the box and he was taken down. Salomon Kalou then converted the penalty to win the game.

Hertha BSC 3 - 1 SC Freiburg
Kalou 45', 79', Drmic 86'
Schuster 38'

In their second game of the season Hertha Berlin took a convinsing victory from a weaker Freiburg side. The away team managed to take a lead after the 30 minute mark with Schuster's near posted shot but Salomon Kalou equalised under ten minutes later with a curling shot inside the box. The Ivorian then headed the ball into the net ten minutes before full time from Abdul Baba's great cross. Five minutes later Baba played another great cross in which was put into the net by Josip Drmic.

Qualifier, 1st leg
Hertha BSC 3 - 0 Djurgården FF
Stocker 39', Drmic 59', Schulz 67'

The Berliners got off to a very good start in their European campaign against the Swedish team Djurgården. Hertha dominated the whole game with their second-ish team and they netted three goals. Valentin Stocker scored the first one with a finess shot and twenty minutes later Josip Drmic added another one from a counter attack. About eight minutes later Nico Schulz made a very good run from his position as a left back into the box. The ball was passed to him and the young German player shot it into the top left corner. The win should be enough for Hertha to get into the group stage.

FC Augsburg 0 - 2 Hertha BSC
Ben-Hatira 53', Kalou 78'

This match against Augburg was a hard one for Hertha. They weren't able to reach their best level of play but they still managed to score two. Änis Ben-Hatira got the first one after the start of the second half after cutting in from the right wing. In the 78th minute Salomon Kalou got a lucky goal after his first shot was deflected by two defenders. The ball bounced straight back to him and he had an easy job finishing the attack.

Qualifier, 2nd leg
Djurgården FF 1 (1) - 1 (4) Hertha BSC
Jawo 45'
Drmic 65'

Djurgården got very, very lucky in the return leg of the qualifier. They had only one shot on target and they scored it. Hertha on the other hand had 13 shots of which eight were on target. After the hour mark Josip Drmic managed to equalise the game after a good passing move. Hertha qualified to the Europa League!

Hertha BSC 1 - 1 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Kalou 69' pen
Raffael 45'

One player of Hertha's squad cost his team the two players: the keeper Thomas Kraft. The goalie hasn't reached his form from last season yet and he has let some very easy goals in like against Freiburg. Now he conceded another one when he let in Raffael's near posted header into the net. Luckily Timo Werner was taken down in the box again and Salomon Kalou scored the penalty like against Leverkusen.

Starting XI
After deadline day

Bundesliga Table

2. Hertha BSC, 10 pts
3. VfL Wolfsburg, 9 pts
4. Borussia Mönchengladbach, 8 pts

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Simppu - You should finish above pretty much every Bundesliga club on the basis of you poaching a player from basically every team in the league! A lot of signings, and I like the German emphasis that you putting on your player selection, so hopefully they can blend well because you did bring in a lot of quality youth and I can't wait to see how Drmic does because I've been very interested in him for a while.

Jan 10th
Liga Adelante
Match 22
Deportivo Alavés 0-1 Real Zaragoza

Porcar 18'

MotM: Óscar Whalley

Lucas Porcar put us ahead with a goal in the first 20 minutes. He initially played it into Pedro who turned the defender and rattled a shot off the left post. Porcar had continued on into the box and was on hand to finish it off. Tejera missed several chances to equalize in the first half. Álamo missed a golden chance to make it 2 and possibly take us out of sight but he dragged the shot wide in the 44th minute. We did a much better job of containing the Alavés attack in the second half and if not for Manu, saving a Borja shot, and Pedro along with substitute Eldin hadn't dragged shots wide the score line would have been larger.

Injuries
Fernández - Broken Ankle, 3 months.
Javi Álamo - Hyper Extended Knee, 4 weeks.

Jan 17th
Liga Adelante
Match 23
UD Las Palmas 2-4 Real Zaragoza

Alemán 2'
Borja 11'
Aranda 13'
Borja 34' (Dorca)
Borja 39'
Hadzic 80' (Pen)

MotM: Borja Bastón

Borja had an incredible game today bagging a hat trick and the 3 points for us. The game got off to a terrible start when the ball was drilled across the 6 yard box and put in by an unmarked Alemán. Borja got us level after 9 minutes tackling Marcelo inside the box and slotting home. Aranda however replied almost instantly. He latched onto a cleared cross before firing past Óscar. Borja was again on target turning and avoiding Marcelo's challenge on the edge of the box. He had all the time in the world to pick his spot and score. Óscar made a good save from Aranda before Borja had his hat trick. Cabrera won the aerial battle with Aranda and headed clear. It went straight to Borja who was free in behind Marcelo. He took his shot early from the edge of the box before Castro could close the angle further.

Borja completes his hat trick.

The game was wrapped up in the 80th minute when Castellano came in from behind after Hadzic took the ball off him right on the edge of the box. Hadzic took it himself and scored without a problem as we made it 2 from 2 this month.

Jan 24th
Liga Adelante
Match 24
Real Zaragoza 4-1 CA Osasuna

Hadzic 11' (Pen)
Borja 36' (Dorca)
Borja 44' (Pedro)
Borja 49' (Hadzic)
Nino 57'

MotM: Borja Bastón

The return derby has come around against Mexican manager Chavez. After falling 2-1 to them earlier in the season Keane is hoping for a reverse of the result this time around. We completely outplayed them. We got 1 up from the spot through Hadzic who won the penalty himself. Santamaría then made a good save off a corner that Hadzic headed towards goal. From the resulting corner Dorca sent it in deep from the right hand side. Borja rose above Silva and headed it back across Santamaría and into the far corner. He added another 8 minutes later after some good play by Pedro. He got clear down the left shrugging off Flaño's challenge. He then crossed it back to Borja who took it on his chest and then volleyed it into the corner.

Great control.

A fourth was added not too long into the second half by none other than Borja. Hadzic played it into him from the left and he took a touch around Echaide before sending it in off the right post. That completed his 2nd hat trick in as many games for the in form striker. Osasuna did however get past Óscar Whalley, who made some excellent saves, in the 57th minute. Cabrera cleared a cross into the area but it only went as far as Nekounam outside the box. He played it into Nino, who was being marked by Dorca. His touch took it away from Dorca, he then curled it around Cabrera and Óscar into the net. A very good victory and in a derby which is always a plus. 1-1 Chico!

Jan 31st
Liga Adelante
Match 25
Real Betis 1-1 Real Zaragoza

Cejudo 45'
Pedro 89' (Borja)

MotM: Alcolea

Could we end the month with 4 wins out of 4 against a talented Betis side? The answer was no we couldn't. We did however end January unbeaten after a late equalizer from Pedro thanks to great work from Borja. Cejudo got Betis ahead after a strong first half. He sent a rocket into the top corner from inside the area past Alcolea, who saved everything else. He asked to be played after not getting enough playtime and boy did he not disappoint. He finished as MOTM with 6 saves. We never really got going until near the end and barely got a point. A throw in was worked to Borja on the right corner of the box. He held Bruno off and made his way down the right of the box before sliding it across to Pedro who had gotten there ahead of Juanfran to tap in the equalizer.

A late equalizer.

Real Zaragoza Player of the Month

Borja Bastón - ST, 71 (+2) Ovr, 22, Spain

Liga Adelante Table
1. CD Tenerife - 52 Points
2. Real Zaragoza - 52 Points
3. CA Osasuna - 50 Points
4. RCD Mallorca - 50 Points
5. Real Valladolid - 48 Points
6. Sporting Gijón - 48 Points
--------------------------
7. Real Betis - 44 Points
8. Deportivo Alavés - 39 Points
9. RC Recreativo - 39 Points
--------------------------
20. SD Ponferradina - 20 Points
21. CD Leganés - 18 Points
22. CD Mirandés - 18 Points

Top Scorers
1. Óscar Díaz (Real Valladolid) 13
Borja Bastón (Real Zaragoza) 13
Marko Scepovic (RCD Mallorca) 13
2. David Rodríguez (AD Alcorcón) 12
3. Stefan Scepovic (Sporting Gijón) 11
Adama Touré (Sporting Gijón) 11

Club Top Scorers
1. Borja Bastón 14
2. Pedro Sánchez 9
3. Eldin Hadzic 6

Youth Academy
Jose Baquero - (Spain) RW, 50-58 Ovr, 79-93 Pot, 16 (Attacker)
- The first youngster to join the Academy is Spanish attacker Jose Baquero. He has shown good speed along with ball control and finishing in his initial report. He has settled in the RW slot and the 5'11" attacker has it seems enough pace to play there and also a finishing touch. Bright things are expected.

The Team
Spoiler

February Matches
7/2 - RCD Mallorca (h)
14/2 - CD Mirandés (a)
21/2 - CD Lugo (h)

A much better month that was where we picked up 3 wins and a draw against tough opponents. The 4-3-3 Attack had worked very well. Borja was on fire and scoring 6 and setting up 1. He's also now risen to joint 1st in the scoring charts as well which is very nice to see. I'm happy with the transfers. Mario, Diogo and Rubén were all shipped out (all 30+) plus some loans for younger, fringe players. I brought in cover for CB in Llorente and also a new RB since Fernández is out for 3 months. I'm happy with the Pre-contracts. 2 CBs for when the loanees, Miquel and Llorente leave at the season and a ST to replace Borja as I doubt I will be able to afford him in the summer when his loan ends. Next month sees only 3 games with Mallorca looking like the only test. The B Team will face Mirandés and Lugo after not getting any action this month due to me wanting to get back up into 1st which we are tied for on points and only behind on GD.

Hope you enjoyed this month! Thanks for reading!

I'll just act like I didn't see the part where you talked about Union. I'm sure they bribed and threatened UEFA to let them play in the Europa League. Hertha are still the better team.

Also, like you said Cruzerr was the first person to start using screen shots. He used them in his Bilbao career and in his Everton one (I think the Everton one is older but I'm not sure).

Agreed, they are not world class and certainly not by your standards :P I know I said I was going for a world class centre back to replace Flaño but when I made it to the transfer window I completely pu***** out. I couldn't do it man! It's hard to let go of a player who's been with the club since 2004 you know. As for my policy, thank you. I'm trying to do the same I did with Wimbledon where I only used players from the UK but here I want to limit myself to only players from Spain. It does get difficult during the transfer window though because I don't like signing players from my direct rivals at the top of the table. I focus on only signing players from teams either from lower mid table or from Liga Adelante or Spanish players in other leagues. I also don't like signing players that somebody on here has already signed in their career so I keep that in mind as well.

Union are clearly the better side. They're in Europe Simppu! You're gonna have to accept that. In fact, I think I'm going to start adding a Union section to my updates as they fight through Europe. That way you'll always be reminded that Union are in Europe, and Hertha is not. :P :P :P
