Yes, he was an important part of my defense last FIFA. But this year he felt like the odd man out after bringing in the two young CB's that I did. If I had kept him he wouldn't have gotten enough game time to make it worthwhile to keep him.
ST - Anthony Modeste (France) (79 OVR 27yrs) Sold to Wolfsburg for $10m
A move we were all predicting, but oddly also not one we were expecting. Because of the money Koln spent to get the Frenchman to sign just six months ago we didn't think they would allow Chavez to sell him off so quick. Koln spent $14m to bring him in, and Chavez sold him for only $10m. The club did not make a profit on the field nor on paper, but if Chavez can't find a suitable replacement for him in the club or in a new signing this may be one of those moves that come back to bite you. Wolfsburg are currently in an Europa League position so a talented back up striker is exactly what they were looking for.
CB - Mergim Mavraj (Albania) (73 OVR 29yrs) Sold to Werder Bremen for $2.3m
The talented center back was told that his chances of playing were slim to none after the club was eliminated in the Deutscher Pokal, and thus the Albanian defender asked to be transfer listed. Werder Bremen were the only club to make an approach, as they are in need of a back up center back that can cover the starters and help the team escape relegation zone.
ST - Maurice Exslager (Germany) (64 OVR 25yrs) Sold to St. Pauli for $550k
The striker wasn't getting playtime in the league nor the cup when Koln were still in the Deutscher Pokal, so through mutual consent he has left to second division side St. Pauli.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1452267250.348106.jpg ST - Artjoms Rudnevs (Latvia) (72 OVR 28yrs) Purchased from Hamburger SV for $2m
Koln needed a new striker option in the squad, and Chavez immediately acquired one by reaching out to the Latvian forward. Rudnevs is a very well rounded striker combining strength, height, ball control and pace in his game but this season he's been practically erased by Hamburg. The striker hasn't made any appearances for Hamburg this season and with his contract expiring in 6 months many clubs were trying to get him on a pre-contract expiry agreement, but Chavez wanted him to join now and even got him for a lower price. He then stayed "He's a fantastic striker. I worked with him before at Hamburg two years ago so I know what he's capable of and frankly I believe Hamburg made a mistake on sending him to the reserves." Soon after releasing this statement Hamburg confirmed that Chavez had in fact never worked at the institution before, and Rudnevs also pointed out the inaccuracy in Chavez's statement by saying "I don't recall ever working with him. In fact, I haven't even met him in person yet, but I do appreciate the vote of confidence. I'm looking forward to meeting him he sounds like a guy that's got jokes."

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1452267265.316291.jpg LM - Lukas Podolski (Germany) (77 OVR 30yrs) Purchased from Galatasaray for $9m
The former Arsenal and Bayern Munich winger Lukas Podolski is set to rejoin his boyhood club Koln for the third time in his career, and fans are ecstatic to have him come back. The signing took up the majority of Chavez's transfer budget but the new manager did not let money stop him from reuniting Podolski with his boyhood club. Galatasaray were initially asking for a $12m fee for the 30 year old, but Chavez somehow managed to get them to agree to a $9m fee; the same amount the Turks paid Arsenal just six months ago. In recent times the German international hasn't been given much confidence by his clubs, but here at Koln he's been received as a world class signing by fans and coaching staff. The World Cup champion will be given his symbolic #10 jersey which was retired in his honor for 2 years after he signed for Arsenal in 2012. Our inside sources state that Chavez intends to use Podolski down the middle as a striker, but in case he doesn't work out well there he will resort back to the Japanese striker Osako or the new signing Rudnevs to cover the role, while Podolski would be moved out wide to his natural position. Fans are eagerly anticipating his debut, and so are we.

Conclusion
My 2nd career update feels good to be posting again! To get into a little more detail with my signings, I really did try to give Modeste more and more opportunities but once January came around I was more than ready to get rid of him and didn't hesitate to transfer list him. It took a while but eventually Wolfsburg came with a decent offer and I quickly accepted it especially since I was broke after the Podolski signing. Rudnevs was a difficult signing because every time I would sign him he would come in with a status that read "joining _______ when his contract expires." It was really annoying. I had to reload the career several times until I could finally get him to come in without another team swooping in on a pre-contract. It took a while because of the way the game is programmed where if a club makes a pre-contract approach the player immediately agrees no matter what. Signing for me was beneficial for both parties so I really wanted to sign him. I gave Hamburg a good amount of money even though his contract is expiring and they need money to escape relegation, while I need a new striker to compete for Modeste's now vacant spot. This is how my team is shaping up with the new signing: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1452267431.129314.jpg
I wanted to play Podolski up front alone, but Osako has been playing really well and benched Modeste before January, so I decided to try to make it work with both up front. Podolski is playing behind Osako at CF with the intention of having him drift wide and take some long shots on goal. Bittencourt was switched to LM in order for this formation to work, which kind of sucks because he was playing extremely well at LCM. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same. I haven't used Podolski much in FIFA before so I'm not sure if he plays best at striker or LW. I'll be switching things up to find how the team works best. Had I not been able to sign Podolski by plan B was to try to revive Andrei Arshavin's career and use him either behind Osako or alone up front in a False 9 formation, but I was left with the temptation only. I also had another striker in mind before Rudnevs, but seeing as Hamburg weren't using him at all I decided to go for the Latvian instead and he's been playing well coming off the bench and pressuring Osako, while my two loan signings haven't had a chance to play yet since we've been having short game months now that we're out of the cup.
Also I've been getting a lot of international offers and I didn't want to accept a job just yet, but the international team that I want to play with in this career already offered me a job. I was surprised to see them so quick and I don't want to manage an international side yet but I might just accept it since I doubt I'll get a second offer from them again. Mexico offered me the job too but I don't want to manage them since I manage them in my Guadalajara careers. I'll most likely accept an international job by next update, and I'm sure Simp will be happy to see who it is! And by the way Simp what's up with Hertha man?! Relegation zone bro. No bueno. No bueno at all amigo. Anyway that's pretty much all I have for this update. I'm starting to jot down the goal scorers for each match so I'll be adding in more details to my updates little by little. Alright, I'm gonna take a nap now Thanks For Reading!!

Good to see you back, too! It will be fun to read about your new adventures at Betis! You signed some great young gems in the transfer window but like Chico said letting Bruno go is an interesting decision. You got off to a very good start with two draws against two good teams.

It is great to see you updating again and what makes me even happier, since I have a huge sweet spot for the Bundesliga, is that you chose Köln! They are a solid team in real life and I'm glad you chose them. Selling Modeste was a very controversial decision but I completely understand why you did it. Bringing Podolski back is amazing, though, and I can see him banging in goals with that powerful left foot.
You are also doing a good job in the league but getting those goals seems to be a real issue for you. Eighth is still a good position (but Hertha's third in real life is much better :P ). That playoff spot doesn't look good, though.
Also, my guess is that you'll become the coach of Russia, comrade.
Where do I begin? Let's start with our excellent form over the last couple of months. We're unbeaten in 17 league games, including a seven-game win streak in November and December. Wijnaldum has been a monster with 16 goals from midfield, the best in the league. Cabella tops the assists chart with 8, and Krul is the best goalkeeper in the division with 10 clean sheets.
We had a short run in the FA Cup, crashing out in the round of 16 to fierce rivals Sunderland. I got things atrociously wrong that game, and Sunderland played a strong defensive game with their 5-4-1 formation. In the Capital One Cup, we reached the final, losing out to Everton thanks to nerves and a lack of cup final experience. Still, it was nice to make the final at least.
Tactically, I've moved away from the 5-2-3. Since the middle of January, we've been playing a standard 4-3-3 with the outside midfielders as close to the wings as possible without changing position. I'm still not sure if this is the formation I want to use. There's always the familiarity of 4-2-3-1!
As for the rest of the season, it looks like we're in with an unexpected yet welcome chance of winning the title. Somehow, I think Chelsea or United will edge us to it by a couple of points, but it would be fantastic if we could claim the most coveted piece of silverware in England. Without any cup ties to distract us, this could be our very best opportunity in several seasons.
Newcastle? At the top of the table? Impossible! It is good to see you, as well! You are absolutely dominating the league and I'd strongly suggest changing the difficulty or using some sliders. That loss to Sunderland doesn't look good, though.

Round 4 Replay
Charlton 0-3 Chelsea
Pedro 22'
Falcao 41'
Falcao 74' (Pen)
Pedro opened the scoring with a strong side footed shot from 18 yards and then the former Barcelona man set up Falcao for the second. The same man rounded off the scoring from the spot.
Match 23
Chelsea 4-1 Manchester United
Rojo 10'
Costa 12' (Pen)
Costa 36'
Costa 69'
Costa 74'
Hamsik 85'
The match was only going to have one outcome after Marcus Rojo was red carded and Diego Costa had put us 2-0 up within 36 minutes. Costa had gotten in on goal and was about to pull the trigger when the defender slid in from behind and floored the striker. The Argentine saw red and Costa converted from 12 yards. United strangely never brought on a replacement defender and this allowed Diego to add 3 more goals and take his scoring tally to 15 league goals. Summer signing Hamsik did manage to take away our clean sheet but was unable to prevent the loss.
Match 24
Chelsea 1-0 West Brom
Isco 81'
A lovely first time finish into the top corner from just inside the box gave us a tight win against the Baggies. Isco combined with Ramires to score a deserved goal for the Spanish international. We weren't at our best today but West Brom were unable to take their chances.
Round of 16
Huddersfield 0-1 Chelsea
Falcao 88'
Falcao scored another goal in the competition to snatch a late winner. We deserved it though as we dominated from start to finish. The snow made it slightly difficult to tuck away chances but Falcao did eventually in the 88th minute.
Round of 16 1st Leg
Chelsea 1-1 Real Madrid
Koke 11'
Bale 52'
Diego Costa's powerful shot from long range left Kiko Casilla scrambling and former Atletico man Koke was on hand to tap in the rebound. A back and forth game would eventually lead to Real gaining an away goal through Gareth Bale. Courtois came out to claim a corner swung in by Ronaldo but he misjudged the flight of the ball allowing Bale a free header into the net. We'll have our work cut out in the return leg.
Match 25
Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle
Isco 3'
Moses 26'
Griezmann 35'
Isco reacted first to a rebound before Moses did the same 20 minutes later to give us a two goal cushion. Antoine Griezmann added a third in the 35th minute to give us a comfortable victory.
Match 26
Southampton 0-1 Chelsea
Costa 8'
Koke set the league's leading scorer away and he finished as he always has this season, with a goal. That put him on 16 for the season. We kept it tight for the remainder of the game and got another 1-0 win.
Ander Iturraspe Bruised Shoulder 5 days
Match 27
Watford 0-6 Chelsea
Pedro 6'
Griezmann 13' (Pen)
Traore 64'
Ramires 77'
Griezmann 80' (Pen)
Piazon 84'
(First game on Legendary with OS Community sliders!)
A complete performance from our second side. Pedro got the opener with a finessed first time finish from a cut back. Griezmann then converted a penalty after Chalobah was tripped as he went to shoot. Bertrand Traore added a third on 64 minutes, Ramires playing him through down the right and the youngster curled it around Riou with his favoured left foot. The former scored our fourth thanks to some poor keeping from a confidence sapped Riou. A fifth arrived in the form of another Griezmann penalty, this time Traore was taken down. Piazon came off the bench to slot away a sixth, his shot banging off the post and in.

Final
Chelsea 4-1 Southampton (A.E.T)
Wanyama 7'
Koke 85'
Willian 98'
Matic 104'
Costa 108'
The Saints took an early lead through Wanyama when he smashed in a rebound from Pelle's header off the crossbar. A free kick from the right was swung in and the Italian rose highest to head the ball off the bar. After pushing for an equalizer the entire game Koke finally broke the Southampton defence with 5 minutes remaining. He played a one-two with Matic, who was holding off his man. He turned in on his right foot inside the area and curled it into the top corner. Extra time would be needed and Willian would put us ahead in the 98th minute. He burst forward on the counter attack down the right and with the aid of a deflection beat Stekelenburg for a 2-1 lead. Matic would get one himself and cap off a MOTM display with an 18 yard strike 6 minutes later. Diego would finish the game getting clear of the defence and curling the ball into the corner.
Well we have our second piece of silverware this season, after the Community Shield, thanks to Koke's late equalizer and our ability to pull away in extra time.
7 points clear of United after 27 games, not too shabby. That has been down to our incredible defence, only allowing 14 goals this season 10 less than the second best, Manchester City. Having scored the most as well, it leaves us in a very strong position going forward into the final months of the season. The surprise package is Swansea City who remarkably sit 3rd with the opportunity to close the gap on United to a single point. Another surprise is seeing Southampton propping up the table after their amazing season last year and their run to the Capital One Cup final. New boys Norwich City and Watford are in solid positions in 9th and 12th respectively.
After seeing off Huddersfield in the last round we are paired up with Newcastle in the Quarter Finals. There are interesting matchups with Championship sides Hull and QPR going head to head and the Gooners facing Sunderland. The final game is Manchester City against Liverpool.
The biggest game this month is no doubt the 2nd leg of the Round of 16 clash with Real. After a 1-1 draw at home we need to go out and score at least once to cancel out the Spanish side's away goal. A tough ask but we'll give it a right go. Before that though we had two Premier League games against Norwich and Stoke. Both offer stern tests but we should come away with at least 4 points, more likely 6. After our Champions League trip we face Newcastle for a place in the Semi Finals of the FA Cup and then a game against Liverpool, whom we beat 3-0 last time out.
Thanks for Reading!
You are going very strong in all competitions (unlike Chelsea in real life :P). You have been scoring a lot of goals lately and it's hard to see anyone but you taking the title home. Selling Fabregas was an interesting choice but in my opinion Isco is a great player to replace him. Aurier should also be a very good addition. Koke seems to be doing well for you but I haven't seen that much of Griezmann scoring which is a shame.
And yes, please, start posting the Kaiserslautern career.

FC Ural Player of the Month
RM Chisamba Lungu, 71 Ovr, 24 years old, Zambia
It was an incredible month for Zambian midfielder Chisamba Lungu who has been with FC Ural since 2010. In the final 3 matches of September, Lungu registered 1 goal, 4 assists, and 2 Man of the Match honors. With Gerson Acevedo suffering a broken ankle against Dinamo Moscow, Lungu will need to stay in sizzling form for Vadim Skripchenko's side if they are to maintain their surprising standing in the Russian Premier League table.
Manager's Thoughts The month started out poorly for us with a 2-0 home defeat to Anzhi Makhachkala, but from there, we really turned it on. Being able to knock off Moscow-based clubs Dinamo and Lokomotiv was huge as both of those squads are immensely more talented than us. August Player of the Month Gerson Acevedo did suffer a broken ankle against Dinamo however, and that is a real big loss for us. In the Russian Cup, we were able to meet the board's goal of reaching the quarterfinals as an Alexandr Stavpets hat trick propelled us to a 4-1 win. In the quarters we will meet Anzhi, so hopefully we are ready for them next time around.
October 2015 - Schedule 10/4 - at Rubin
10/17 - vs Terek
10/24 - at Amkar
10/31 - vs Ufa
October will be massive in determining if we're really a contender for Europe or just pretenders. We begin the month traveling to Kazan to face Rubin, and with them breathing down our necks in the table, we need to at least get a draw to hold them off. Then we face 3 bottom side clubs in Terek Grozny, Amkar Perm, and FC Ufa. Two of those matches are at home, and the trip to Perm shouldn't be intimidating as we just won there in the Russian Cup 4-1. My goal is 10 out of a possible 12 points.
That is a very good beginning to the season! The wins against Dinamo and Lokomotiv Moscow are very impressive and you are in a very good position in the league. Good that you progressed in the cup, too. Next month doesn't look too hard and I can see you going up by a couple of spots.

Spoiler
The Central Coast Mariners made waves today by announcing their new head coach for the 2015-2016 season following a disastrous 2014-2015. The new sheriff in town comes as a shock in the form of 30-year old Diego Del Barco, hailing from the United States although originally born in Venezuela.
Del Barco signifies a jaw-dropping change for a club that suffered a massive downfall last season. The American-Venezuelan has never coached a professional soccer club before, with his resume mostly boasting local work in the United States with youth academies. Nonetheless sources indicate Del Barco had an impressive interview with Mike Charlesworth and Peter Storrie, who soon after said interview quickly agreed on offering the club's head coaching position to the now rookie head coach.
"We are proud to announce today Mr. Diego Del Barco as the new head coach of the Central Coast Mariners," an enthusiastic Storrie announced sitting next to Charlesworth and the new head coach. "Our visions of what the club must do going forward in order to return to the top of the A-league are synchronized and we look forward to aiding and assisting coach Del Barco during this challenge. We understand the perceived risks of designating someone with very minimal experience as the leader of this club but we are confident that we will look back to today as the beginning of our return to the top of the A-League."
If Del Barco is nervous about the task at hand he sure didn't show it at the press conference. "It is an honor to be trusted with the opportunity to lead this team to bigger and better finishes going forward," the new head coach said. "I am very thankful for the opportunity given to me by the club and I'm very eager to get started on this journey. It wasn't too long ago that this club earned champions and premier titles and our goal is to get back challenging for and winning those titles. I am not saying it will be an easy road to get back to that kind of form but I do believe those are goals that can and will be accomplished and I look forward to working as hard as possible along with all players and coaches to achieve that kind of success."
Del Barco had no comments about roster moves or strategy deferring such talk until after getting to meet his complete roster and working with them. As expected any time a new head coach is hired, we will be on the lookout for any moves in the transfer market as well as any possible position changes. The Mariners own arguably the worst roster in the A-league so their new head coach will have to get creative in order to achieve success. Transfer/wage budgets are expected to be low.
Ladies and gentlemen, he is officially back! I'm very happy to see you return and I wish for you to repeat all the success you had at Alcorcon and Dagenham or at least at Alcorcon.
Pauli.
Arrivals
Attachment 113815 ST - Artjoms Rudnevs (Latvia) (72 OVR 28yrs) Purchased from Hamburger SV for $2m
SHOCK SIGNING
Spoiler
Attachment 113816 LM - Lukas Podolski (Germany) (77 OVR 30yrs) Purchased from Galatasaray for $9m

This is how my team is shaping up with the new signing: Attachment 113820
Alright, I'm gonna take a nap now Thanks For Reading!!

you start me with a win AT Leverkusen and I'm like "ok, here we go" then you bring me back down to earth. THEN you also beat Dortmund. WTF? Reading about the transfers was cool even before you made me realize Podolski is from there. That's a really cool touch never mind that he should be very useful for you for at least 2-3 seasons. Then you took me back to your roller coaster season in which you struggle to win except against top-5 teams because OF COURSE. So that was a fun read.

Sorry about having no table, my screenshot for it corrupted, . I was in first though after a solid start to the season. The cup game was slightly disappointing after I gave after some sloppy goals and wasn't able to make my chances count.
So yeah, I took on the Austria job so I could manage at Euro 2016. It's a pretty decent squad with Alaba the real star. I'm looking forward to playing with them!
I should have a post up about the squad over the weekend, so keep an eye out! And Thanks for Reading!

FC Ural Player of the Month
CB Alyaksandr Martynovich, 69 Ovr, 28 years old, Belarus
There was not a lot to choose from as far as October's Player of the Month honor goes, as FC Ural only won 1 of 4 matches and scored a meager 2 goals in the process. Belarusian center back Alyaksandr Martynovich did provide the game winner against Terek Grozny however, and played a role in a clean sheet against Amkar Perm. Still, manager Vadim Skripchenko will be disappointed with the month's results.
Manager's Thoughts An incredibly frustrating month as we fell from 4th to 7th place after some poor showings against mostly mediocre competition. I thought we had secured a point in Kazan, but Rubin's Igor Portnyagin broke our hearts with a game-winner a minute after our late equalizer. The win versus Terek Gronzy was expected, but then we came out flat our next 2 games and scored 0 goals in a draw with Amkar Perm and a loss to FC Ufa. The board is still happy with being in the upper half of the table, but I know we can play much better than we did this month.
International Duty Striker Carlos Strandberg, who is on loan from CSKA Moscow, has been called to represent Sweden during the international break. The 19-year-old has 2 goals on the season for FC Ural. This will be Strandberg's first call-up to Sweden's national team. FC Ural congratulates Carlos on his accomplishment and wishes him continued success.
November 2015 - Schedule 11/8 - at Krasnodar
11/21 - vs Zenit
11/28 - at Rostov
This is where dropping those points to Amkar and Ufa could come back to bite us. We go on the road to face current 4th place side FC Krasnodar, who narrowly missed out on the Champions League last year. We follow that up by hosting the Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg before getting some relief against last place FC Rostov. Taking any points from the Krasnodar and Zenit matches will be a success, and we really need to beat Rostov.
