Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Season 1
April 2016

Season Objectives:

The Domestic Cup objective is to reach the Round of 16.
The League objective qualify for the European Cup.

BPL Match
Norwich 1 - 0 Newcastle
Mbokani 28’

MOTM Brady (NOR)

We got beat by a goal scored early on when Mbokani was played through and had a good finish to the bottom corner. We just couldn't get anything going and when it comes down to it Norwich was the better team throughout the game.

BPL Match
Southampton 0 - 2 Newcastle
Townsend 64’
Correa 90’

MOTM Tiote (NEW)

After Southampton beat us in the first game of the season we had a point to make and came into the game ready to fight. It still took over an hour for us to score the first goal, but it came from Townsend who cut in and hit a good shot to the far upper 90. Correa sealed it in the 90th after being played through he was able to score his first goal.

BPL Match
Newcastle 0 - 1 Swansea
Fer 75’

MOTM Nordfeldt (SWA)

We were unlucky to concede the goal we did but I’m not sure we deserved the three points. Fer shot from far out and the ball was going wide but Krul dove and actually hit it into the net.

BPL Match
Liverpool 0 - 2 Newcastle
Townsend 78’
Correa 86’

MOTM Shelvey

Townsend and Correa seem to score together late on in games the play together. We didn’t have many chances but we took the ones we got. Townsend scored a similar to last came by cutting in on his stronger left foot and firing to the far post. Correa this time was able to head in a cross sent in by Shelvey.

BPL Match
Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Newcastle
Shelvey 42’
Bolasie 72’

MOTM Shelevy

Crystal Palace who are in midst of a relegation battle will probably look at this game and be happy to take a point from us.

Table:

My Thoughts:

May will be a very interesting month! We could finish anywhere between 4th and 8th based on how results around the league go in the last few matches. We play Aston Villa and Spurs both at home for our last two matches. We really need to aim for a win in both games if we want to get a spot in Europe and that's what we will do!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

The Bluebirds

September 2017

September 1, Waldstadion
FIFA WC Qualifiers: Match 9

Portugal 0-0 England

MotM: Rui Patrício (POR)

Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling came close early on for England before Valente tested Hart with a long range strike on 33 minutes. The best chance of the game came when Walcott cut the ball back towards Henderson but Rui Patrício got down well to save the Liverpool man's effort.

September 5, Waldstadion
FIFA WC Qualifiers: Match 10

Switzerland 0-4 England
23' Smalling, 37' Morrison, 45' Rooney, 79' Berahino, 85' Stones s/o

MotM: Leighton Baines (ENG)

Smalling and Morrison both headed in Leighton Baines' corners to give us a 2-0 lead which was extended with captain Wayne Rooney's goal right on halftime. The striker tapping in the rebound of Milner's shot. Berahino came off the bench to score the fourth after being put through by Sturridge. Unfortunately John Stones was sent off for pulling down Seferovic when he was clean through with five minutes to play. Jake Kean kept a clean sheet in goal on his first appearance for the national team.

September 9, Villa Park
Barclays PL: Match 5

Aston Villa 1-0 Cardiff City
78' Sánchez

MotM: Jordan Ayew (AVL)

Carlos Sánchez was allowed to dribble far too easily through our defence and score the decisive goal 12 minutes from time. We failed to convert our chances and in the end that came back to hurt us.

September 14, Cardiff City Stadium
EL Group Stage: Match 1

Cardiff City 1-1 FC Utrecht
31' Iheanacho
10' (Pen) Haller

MotM: Peter Whittingham (CAR)

The side was fully rotated due to a league game against Spurs coming up in two days time. We didn't get off to the greatest of starts when Hector gave away a penalty which Haller easily converted. Haller was a nuisance all game and even hit the post just before Iheanacho got the equalizer. A beautiful solo run on the counter attack followed by a strong right footed finish from the Nigerian. Utrecht dominated the ball while we had more attempts than the Dutch side.

September 16, Cardiff City Stadium
Barclays PL: Match 6

Cardiff City 0-1 Tottenham
61' Dembele

MotM: Michel Vorm (TOT)

We peppered the Spurs goal with shots but Vorm was in top form making 8 saves, including a point blank stop from Afobe's effort off Phillips' pullback. Spurs would come away with a slightly undeserved win in the end, Dembele's volley off Chadli's free kick the deciding factor.

Fabio will miss 9 days with a bruised shoulder.

September 19, Globe Arena
Capital One Cup: Round 3

Morecambe 0-2 Cardiff City (AET)
100', 105' Adama

MotM: Adama (CAR)

We struggled to break Morecambe down for the first 90 minutes and in the end two goals from Adama, the substitute, settled the tie in extra time. Whittingham had a penalty saved but we managed to keep the ball alive and then Adama smashed a shot in off the crossbar. He added a second on the counter attack, Iheanacho sliding him through and his pace took him away from the defender, allowing him a comfortable finish. Ward-Prowse should have scored a third late on but the Englishman saw his effort go just wide.

September 23, Liberty Stadium
Barclays PL: Match 7

Swansea City 0-0 Cardiff City

MotM: Fernando Muslera (SWA)

Coming into this Welsh derby, Swansea were the league's top scorers with 13 while we were the league's lowest scorers with 4. We still couldn't score but importantly neither could Swansea. Sigurdsson showed early warning signs when he struck the post from long range but we would have the next big chance, Ince was unable to convert however. Both keepers were on top form and earned their respective sides a point. Blanco stopping a close range Sigurdsson effort before Muslera kept out Amartey's low drive. Suarez had hit the post right beforehand. Our poor run of form in the league continues but at least we pick up a point.

September 28, Red Bull Arena
EL Group Stage: Match 2

Red Bull Salzburg 0-2 Cardiff City
77', 90' Williams

MotM: Iñaki Williams (CAR)

Salzburg had hit the post twice before we got our first real clear cut chance. Suarez cutting inside and curling just past the frame of the goal. Iñaki then found himself on the end of Adama's deflected shot so he turned and tucked the ball away from six yards to hand us a crucial lead. Iheanacho smashed one off the crossbar soon after before a through ball from Ward-Prowse to Iñaki sealed the game with a 2-0 scoreline.

Sorry about no reviews/previews. I'm just really busy with school etc. Thanks for Reading!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Moose - That Butland own goal was ridiculous and funnily enough, I've had something similar happen to me. My shot bounced off the crossbar while the keeper had already diven forwards to save the shot, missing the ball. The ball was going down and out after hitting the bar but the keeper, who had gotten up, leaped into his own net, hitting the ball there as well. To get back to your videos, disappointing to see that you lost to Newcastle. Good job to bounce back from it in the cup, though, especially with Payet getting a hattrick!

As far as transfers go, I would've personally went for Draxler since he's a Bundesliga player and he has very good dribbling stats. Out of the three wingers you have made offers for I'd sign Berardi or Jese (where the 'J' is pronounced as 'H') because I rate them higher than Tello. Ntep also looks like a great option but if I had to pick only one player it would have to be Berardi. Also, I think that all the teams that are going for Lanzini might be placing very low bids on him because of his contract lenght. Usually lower offers are received for players with under two years left on their contracts so I suggest checking that out.

SMH - Great work with Ural to win the Russian Cup and and to qualify for the Europa League! Congratulations on the cup win, too! It looked like a very stressful game with three penalties in it and with you going down twice. I'm looking forward to next season!

Keano - Very inconsistent month of September where only cup games went your way. Losing to Villa is not something that will help you in finishing in the top six. Fortunately you are looking solid in the Europa League with a three-point lead over Utrecht in third. Goalscoring is looking like a big issue for you at the moment. Also, good start with England in what were quite pointless games in all honesty. Good to see that you are in the World Cup, though, and good luck for it!

Yanks - It feels bad to see your team dropping so many points after what was an amazing half a season. I know exactly what you are going through because I had a similar time period in the first season of my Hertha career. I went from January to May with only winning something like four games. I really wish you luck for the last month!

Hedges - I think those types of written updates work the best here. They are easy and quick to read and giving feedback is easier.

Rabbit - Overall a great month with Newport with many great performances from many different players! It's good to see that the whole squad is performing well. Great job securing promotion at this time, too! Also, Clark Gordon is looking amazing in the academy.

Cabee - Interesting decision to let Lukaku go after being the top scorer for you last sason. Morata should be a good replacement for him, though. You also have good old Ronaldo in the team so getting goals really shouldn't be a problem with or without Lukaku.

***

I am enjoying the Athletic Bilbao career at the moment, I really am, and I want to keep playing it, but recently I have been feeling like starting a new Hertha career. I think it would be a bit too much to start posting a second career with them in the time span of two weeks, but I'd still like to do it because 1) it's my favourite team 2) they are having a spectacular season in real life 3) I could do a couple of things differently than in the first career 4) I love the Bundesliga. Another option would be simply not to post it but there's a possibility that I'd get sucked into it and put Athletic to the side. Basically I need your advice.

Mallorca Player of the Month

CM Javi Ros, 70 Ovr, 26 years old, Spain

Club captain Javi Ros inspired a magical start to 2016 for Mallorca as Los Bermellones elminated Liga BBVA sides
Málaga and Real Madrid from the Copa del Rey, while continuing their dominance in Liga Adelante. From a defensive midfield position, Ros scored 3 goals in January and had two Man of the Match performances. His greatest moment was a goal against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu in Leg 2 of the Copa del Rey Quarterfinals that saw Mallorca shock the Spanish football world.

3(t). Munir (Numancia) - 7 Clean Sheets

Manager's Thoughts
Our incredible run of form in the Copa del Rey and Liga Adelante continued in the new year as we continue to look destined for promotion while also stunning both
Málaga and Real Madrid in the cup competition. I could have never envisioned a 2-0 aggregate result against Los Blancos, but this squad has great heart. A minor stumble at the end with a 0-0 draw against Tenerife wasn't a particularly bad result as our side was pretty gassed from 8 matches on the month. With the league position very solidified, we will continue to go all in during the Copa del Rey in hopes of some silverware.

February 2016 - Schedule
2/3 - at Barcelona*
2/6 - at Valladolid
2/10 - vs Barcelona*
2/13 - vs Girona
2/20 - at
Almería
2/28 - at Ponferradina

*Copa del Rey - Semifinals

The biggest matches for February are obviously our 2 legs of the Copa del Rey semifinal against world giants FC Barcelona, and a trip to second-place
Almería. My league expectations are always the same - win every match. As for Barcelona, we are not intimidated after our results versus Real Madrid, so we'll just have to see what happens.
