Also, on the bright side, the mighty Bulgarian Georgi Peev was the player of September
Yes, happy to have Gümüs and Krotov even if it's just loans. Gümüs is a regular in my Starting XI and has already gone from a 67 to 69. Krotov jumped from 65 to 66 despite not playing as much. The results were very tough, a combination of a really hard opening schedule and evidence that it will take some time to retool this squad. We just can't score goals...hardly at all. Our defense is pretty solid, but our creativity and finishing is miserable. Peev is only 63 overall, but he's 86 on penalties, so he's like my special weapon there. Zanev (the other Bulgarian) is really solid as well.

Just a quick post about the CL teams. I don't really know what to write, what do you think of them, and what do you think of our chances of advancing? Which group is the "Group of Death"? Which one is the weakest?

Amkar Player of the Month

GK Roman Gerus, 67 Ovr, 35 years old, Russia

After a sluggish start to the RFPL campaign, Amkar Perm responded in October by going 2-2-0 and not conceding a single goal in the 4 matches. Veteran goalkeeper Roman Gerus started 2 of those contests, and earned a Man of the Match honor in a 0-0 draw at Terek Grozny. Evgeniy Pomazan also deserves credit, as the new acquisition from Anzhi Makhachkala also had 2 clean sheets.

Russian Premier League Table
1. CSKA - 25 pts
2. Krasnodar - 21 pts
3. Zenit - 19 pts

2(t). Rebrov (Spartak) - 3 Clean Sheets
2(t). Abaev (Lokomotiv) - 3 Clean Sheets

Manager's Thoughts
After a rough August and September, we really needed a big month, and we did that in October. The game in Chechnya was probably more favored toward Terek Grozny in terms of play, but Roman Gerus held strong to earn us a hard-fought point. Then our goal scoring drought mercifully ended against FC Krasnodar on a brilliant header from Alexandr Prudnikov to hand the visitors their first loss of the campaign. Our squad got another needed result in a 2-0 win against bottom side Mordovia Saransk, before grinding out another goalless draw against giants Zenit Saint Petersburg. In total, 8 of a possible 12 points. I can't complain with that return.

November 2015 - Fixtures
11/7 - at Ufa
11/21 - vs Rostov
11/28 - at Ural

The schedule eases off dramatically in November as FC Rostov is our highest-placed opponent at 11th in the table. Two of the matches are on the road however, so that won't be easy. If we could get 2 wins and a draw, I'd be more than satisfied.

Pretty good group for Everton. I feel like Arsenal are in a tough group and that might be the hardest.

What a start to the season! Barkley has been on a tear with his assists.

No group really stands out as the "Group of Death" for me, possibly yours, Bayern/Spurs/St. Eitienne, Dortmund/Arsenal/Marseille? I think you've a good chance of progressing, you've avoided the big guns with Villarreal and Zenit around your level. Should be four interesting games!

SMH: much better month! Great draw against Zenit and not conceding the whole month is good going. Just need to continue the momentum, and it looks like you can with that fixture list, and push further up the table.

FIFA 15 - Season 10 (2023/2024)
Exeter Who?

August

Barclays Premier League (12/08)
Newcastle | 1-1 | Everton

19’ Stones (og)
85’ Ledson

We tried the 4-1-4-1 and we were pretty lack-lustre once again. Sammy Ameobi sprints down the left and drifts inside to have a shot. Everton keeper Dimitri Sainsbury makes a great save but the ball is taken to the edge of the area where Davide Santon flings his foot at it. The shot is initially going wide before a heavy John Stones deflection takes the ball past the helpless keeper.

In the 43th minute of the game, Everton attacking midfielder Mirnes Sobiech slots the ball through the Newcastle defence and to Erick Torres who flicks the ball around Neto but can only watch as the ball hits the post and harmlessly rolls away to a Newcastle defender.

With five minutes left of regulation time, Pione Sisto finds space in the box to shoot but Neto makes a top-class save before Ryan Ledson pounces on the rebound to get Everton the point.

Europa League Qualifying (17/08)
Newcastle Utd | 4-0 | Partick Thistle

13’ Navratil || 43’ Spajić || 45’ Campbell || 77’ Hajrovic

The 4-3-3 setup really changed our game this match. It was against Partick though so I will be looking to use this formation for the Bolton game we have up next in the Barclays Premier League.

Sammy Ameobi once again being a threat on the left manages to find acres of space and cross the ball into the box for attacking midfielder Jan Navratil who heads the ball up and over the keeper to open the score.

The Partick Thistle keeper boots the ball up field where Spajic wins his header to give the ball to Navratil in the midfield. The ball finds its way to the right wing where Hajrovic holds the ball before delivering a great ball to the penalty spot with his preferred left foot and onto the head of the running Spajic who lifts his header over the keeper for a magnificent goal.

Sammy Ameobi clears the ball away from danger and to a Thistle defender whose first touch is appalling which allows Adam Campbell to pounce on the ball and counter attack. He uses he pace to get one-on-one before chipping the keeper which clips the underside of the crossbar before going over the line.

A low Navratil cross from the right goes straight to Hajrovic in the 77th minute and he smashes the ball past the keeper to make the score 4-0.

MotM: Izet Hajrović (9.6)

Debuts For: Rubén Muñiz Gallego (7.7)

Barclays Premier League (20/08)
Bolton | 0-2 | Newcastle

45’+1’ Ameobi || 65’ Hajrović || 72’ Ameobi

This was an interesting one to judge how good of a team we really are. We decided to go with the 4-3-3 once again to be a little more attacking.

Bolton left back Matt Connolly pushes in front of a Sammy Ameobi run but Sam doesn’t give up and manages to chase the full back and the ball into the area where he regains the ball before angling his shot into the far corner. Hajrović added to the score in the 65th minute after a perfect corner from the left by Cabella is simply headed in for the two goal lead.

All I can say about the red card is that it never should have been one.

MotM: Izet Hajrović (7.9)

Europa League Qualifying (24/08)
Partick Thistle | 0-0 | Newcastle Utd

After our 4-0 win over Partick last time, I decided to play my B-team. There’s not really much to say about this game in all honesty. We dominated but started to waver near the end and Drmić was one of the only first team starter and had an appalling game, missing two open goals.

MotM: Scott Basalaj (7.6) (GK)

Barclays Premier League (26/08)
Newcastle | 4-0 | West Ham

24’, 54’ Drmić || 27’ Campbell || Spajić 62’ (Armstrong)

After Cabella’s transfer request yesterday, he has been dropped to the bench (we simply do not have enough depth to leave him out completely) with Ayoze Pérez replacing him at CAM in the 4-3-3. We had quite a tired team and no Ameobi so I was forced to play Ayoze Pérez, Campbell, Armstrong and Drmić in a very attacking side. Our young centre back Marius Papp also makes his first appearance in an unfamiliar position at right back.

Adam Campbell uses his pace on the left to absolutely rocket past the right back and Drmić manages to slide in and poke the low cross into the back of the net. Three minutes after, Jonathan Bond makes a massive mistake; he tries to be the sweeper keeper but absolutely makes a hash of his clearance which pretty much goes directly upwards. He tries to head the ball away but Adam Campbell wants it more and lifts his long-range shot up and over the last defender and just underneath the crossbar for the second. The third came from a magnificent tackle by Drmić who then used his time and space to chip the ball over the rushing keeper in the 54th minute.

MotM: Uroš Spajić (9.8)

Capital One Cup Round 2 (29/08)
Newcastle Utd | 3-2 | Nott’m Forest

10’ Hajrović (FK) || 83’ Mitrović || 118’ Navratil
10’ Fuller
|| 33’, 45’ Mongongu

After only ten minutes, Hajrović makes Nottingham Forest pay for a reckless tackle through the back of Navaratil by smashing his free-kick low and into the bottom corner with ease. Jacques Mongongu’s goals were purely counter attacks that were executed exquisitely. I was starting to worry nearly forty minutes after with only 8 minutes left a regulation time. I ordered one of my centre backs to act as a second striker and before I knew it Adam Campbell initiates the counter attack. The keeper, who’d been magnificent, manages to stick a leg out in the one-on-one but the rebound comes to Adem Mitrović outside the box who places the ball first-time along the ground and into the bottom right corner with precision that I’d only expect a striker to have.

With only two minutes left of extra time, Ayoze Pérez runs inside from the left. He’s eventually tackled but the ball rolls out to Navratil on the edge of the box who takes his time to assess the situation before jogging forward and closer to the penalty area. He uses a sudden burst of pace to get past a slide tackle before flicking the ball onto his left foot and places the ball across the keeper and into the far corner. Jan Navratil has saved us there!

MotM: Felipe Ochagavía (9.5) (GK)

Newcaste United’s August Player of the Month

Izet Hajrović

Izet, in 5 games, already has 3 goals and an assist to his name. The 32-year-old has consistently been a threat on the right wing and I expect he’ll be doing more of the same in the months to come.

League Table:

1. Arsenal – 9 Points
2. Newcastle Utd – 7 Points
3. Tottenham – 7 Points
4. Manchester United – 7 Points

5. Chelsea – 7 Points
6. Southampton – 6 points
------------
9. QPR – 4 Points
10. Exeter City 4 Points
11. Swansea City –4 Points
-----------
16. Stoke City – 2 Points
17. West Ham– 2 Points
18. Aston Villa – 1 Point
19. Leeds United – 1 Point
20. Bolton – 1 Point

* Denotes team with a game in hand

Barclays Premier League Top Goalscorers

1. Aleksandar Mitrović – 3 Goals for Manchester United

2. Miralem Pjanić –2 Goals for Liverpool

3. Stevan Jovetić – 2 Goals for Arsenal

September’s Games:

(09/09) Arsenal (A)
(14/09) PAOK (H) EL
(17/09) Crystal Palace (H)
(20/09) Aston Villa (A) COC
(23/09) Tottenham (A)
(28/09) KV Mechelen (A) EL

My Thoughts:

The lads have played really well in a weakened team without Óliver Torres and not very many signings this month. The only player who’s had his debut for us is Gallego and he’s been performing well. Izet Hajrović and Uroš Spajić have been our standout players so far on the wing and at centre back respectively. I can’t wait to play Arsenal with our new signings!

I’m loving this! Having to play a different style of football and having vulnerabilities has made this career change so exciting! The Nottingham Forest game had me so animated in my chair and I was having a blast even when we were losing (although I certainly didn’t have a smile on my face when we went 2-1 down).

I'd love to start posting updates, I am about to start a Tottenham career. They are my favorite non-MLS club and since FIFA doesn't like to make the MLS that great, EPL sounds like a better league.

I just had a few questions if you guys don't mind? What are the rules for posting here? And what do people enjoy reading about the most?(Youth academy, game results, transfers?)

thanks everyone!

As long as you can tell the difference between my dog and my wife I'll be happy.

But really, I'm excited to get going. I'm updating a few ratings right now (Leicester players) then I'll start the career tonight.
