In interviews, EA said there is no scripting because there's no need for it. Does EA have any reason to lie? It's not too difficult to admit to it and is easily fixable, right?
We would have to know what they consider scripting, The same company provide game updates with notes, The notes leave out actual changes to game play
Did you see the previous posts looking at EA's coding where they simply copied and pasted it from previous titles and forgot to update it?
I never noticed version 1 before. Are you sure it's not the cpu just changing its attacking/defensive mentality and custom tactics during the game? Increased aggression and pressure can help you win the ball.
I'm confident with the posts I've seen so far and the amount of games I've played it's not, plus an increase in aggression/pressure should not effect my players to the degree it does, I can cope with version 1 tbh
I think version 2 is just describing some problems with the gameplay and cpu. Driven passes to the striker has been an issue that's been mentioned many times on this thread. We've been trying to fix this with the sliders. I think the sliders help somewhat. Hoping to decrease driven passing, I've even increased cpu pass error.
This is why scripting is a tough issue to universally agree on, I see the driven pitch all around the pitch, The combination I'm referring to is their get a goal move, with the added ping pong passing it's intentionally used to exploit a weakness which is switching players, you simply can't match the speed they pass at with switching players in such a confined space, it's genius really (kind of)
How is your defending? Do you just defend the player on the ball? On tactical defending, it's necessary to be very good at manually switching players and defending off the ball. Also, custom tactics and player instructions have a big impact on games. I don't think the default tactics or the attck/def mentalities are enough to be successful in fifa, especially on legendary and more manual controls. Against teams that ping pong the ball around the box, I make sure to have two holding midfielders and use narrow width(30-40). Your players will automatically come to the middle and push players out wide.
My defending is fine, I'd be honest if it wasn't, I was all over the narrow setting at the start of the season to reduce the problems I'd seen on previous career modes
Can't your your big drop-off in your Hoffenheim career mode be a result of manual controls and being on Legendary? It's not a surprise that full manual controls can lead to a lot of unpredictable results. I'm not sure about this, but the cpu's tactics seem to be affected by your form and the quality of the team. Hoffenheim is a strong team and you were in 2nd place. Maybe, that's why teams started playing more defensive? Or maybe you just went up against teams with defensive ctt's.
Possibly, I've not seen it before to such extreme, It was certainly a curveball and cost me any chance of the title, It just felt off and difficult to explain, I'll never sign Xherdan Shaqiri again though, 24 million I'll never get back.
