What other sliders do you have different from default? I've tried so much to get this to work for me, from deleting game data and re-downloading tuners to using default sliders. After about 25 games with BaGM on 1.04, my team would average 3-6 while the CPU only averaged 1-3 (all this includes fighting penalties). It feels like my CPU teammates got more penalties called against them, but the CPU team didn't change much. Penalty sliders maxed, aggressiveness maxed, and some other tweaks. Maybe it has something to do with other sliders I have changed.

I'm getting tons of injuries. Currently I'm without Corey Perry, Teemu Selanne (broken leg, 3 months!) and Saku Koivu. I rarely have my full first or second lines to choose from.

Just past the all star break in Year 2 of my Leafs GM, and my current record stands at 34-16-2. Only trade I've done so far in Year 2 was Grabovski to the Flames for Olli Jokinen

In the first year of playing I didn't have any major players injured, lucky me I guess. But now I am on my second year and ever since a few weeks in at least one of my stars has been injured. One of my top D, Jonathon Blum, was out with a concussion for 4 weeks, Nail Yakupov was injured luckily only for a week, LW Simon Gagne (free agent pickup I believe) has been out for 2-3 months with elbow surgery, RW Patrik Hornquist has been out for about a month with a concussion and LW Ryan Smyth (picked up in a trade) is out with a concussion also. I haven't had good luck this season with concussion apparently!

Re: How's Your GM Mode going? NHL 13 Edition

I have been playing like mad in my second year (2013-2014 season) because I took a look at the unrestricted free agents coming available and I would like to try and pry them away from their teams if I can. I know it is unrealistic in the real world for the Predators to pick up any of these players but I am just playing it my way. But Datsyuk, Sedin twins, Malkin, Letang, Gaborik, Marleau, Thorton, Bouwmeester, etc are all becoming available. I am currently 63 games in but have clinched the division so I might go and be a seller at the trade deadline(4 games away) to help free up some salary to get some of the big names. Before looking at the free agency market I signed some of my players to multi year deals so now I am looking to offload some of those. Like I traded Sergei Kostitsyn(3.2m) and P Gaustad (3.3m) and a second round pick for E Belanger(1.865m) and R. Smyth(2.3m) and a 2014 Edmonton pick. I also traded R. Hamrlik (4.175m) to Washington for a 2014 2nd and 3rd round pick to help clear space and he is 39 and still signed for another year after this one. My highest paid player is Weber who I extended for 7 years I believe at 7m a year and plan on keep him. I may look at getting rid of Simon Gagne who I signed for 3 years at 7m and I also may try to trade Martin St Louis who is signed for another year at 5.6m but I may want to keep him as he is second on my team with 46 goal scored so I may just keep him. All the rest of my team is young enough to keep I think and I have 19.5m in cap space for next season with only having to resign David Legwand and a few rookies.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going? NHL 13 Edition

Im in a 6 team Online GM Connected league (All-star difficulty). We decided that we would put the 6 divisions in a hat and draw a division. Once you get a division you can choose any team and thats your team. Anyway after the drawings I got the Northeast (the only division i DIDNT want). After thinking about it i decided to go with the Bruins because of their depth at the forward and goaltender position. The other teams chosen were; Penguins, Lightning, Blackhawks, Canucks and Kings.

We are around 50 games into the season and I have made 3 trades to acquire players I enjoy playing with.
My first trade was Milan Lucic, Boychuk and a 2nd round pick for Micheal Grabner and Visnovsky. I play and uptempo style and obviously Lucic does NOT. Visnovsky is very underrated and can really let it fly from the point.
My second trade was Patrice Bergeron for Loui Erickson. The bruins have alot of depth at center and I dont like to play with right handed players as much. I decided Loui was a good fit as a second line winger.
My third trade was my favorite, I traded Rich Peverly and Adam Mcquad for Darren Helm and Brendan Smith. Im a HUGE Helm fan and getting him solidified my third line.
Here are my line combos;
Seguin-Kreci-Grabner
Marchand-Savard-Erickson
Caron-Helm-Paille
Thornton-Campbell-Rolston
Chara-Seidenberg
Visnovsky-Smith
Mottau-Sheldon Souray (waivers)

After 49 games the Bruins are 44-4-1 good for first in the NHL. The Penguins and Lightning are 2nd and 3rd in the east. The Kings are 2nd in the west followed by Blackhawks(4th) and Canucks (8th) respectively. We had one user to user trade so far and it was a dandy. Pitt traded Malkin to Chicago for Kane and Nick Leddy (a little one sided but the Pitt user had a ton of injuries to their Defense).

The stat leaders so far are Points; Crosby at 62. Goals; Grabner at 45. Carey Price is leading in every major goaltending category and Chara is a runaway for the Norris with 44 points and a plus 66.

Let me know what you guys think.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going? NHL 13 Edition

I finished dead last in the league with the Flames in my first year. It was partly by design as I went the "scorched earth" rebuild route. My team didn't have much talent by the end of the year with injuries and trades combined. I only won 27 games.

I mostly just wanted to mention a couple bizarre trades in the off-season that really helped me. The Canucks wanted my 2nd round and Jiri Hudler for Gaunce—which was great as he had increased to 77 and was a 4.5 star.

The Jets offered me Tobias Enstrom (salary 5.8 mil) for Lee Stempniak (~2mil) and Alex Tanguay (~4mil) pretty much a perfect trade for the direction of my team. I guess they figured it was a good way to acquire some veteran depth with Buff and Bogosian both rated 87 on the back end.

Mark Jankowski also progressed for me from 59 to 76 and has some great offense ratings. I have him on the top line between Sven Barschi (increased from 68 to 82) and Nathan Horton (UFA signing).

I currently have way too many young centers though. Jankowski age: 19, 76ovr, Gaunce age: 19 77ovr, Max Reinhart Age: 21 81 ovr, and Nathan Mackinnion Age: 18 70ovr (actually sent him back to Jr). Also drafted Curtis Lazar, who is a center with 4.5 star potential in the first round with a pick I got out of trading Iginla to Buffalo (they promptly tanked).

How did you get Jankowski?
