Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

Ok everyone, so I came home a little while ago and began working with these tools. Hoping to pull my weight a bit, considering the work Pyro and demolition have done already. I successfully unpacked my roster file, edited and packed it back up (Amazing tool pyro, u are ridiculously talented). I am using 360 files btw. Now I need someone to give me some deeper insight on how to use file verifier++. I understand what lines need to b replaced in the hex editor, but I need more details on where I get the replacement hex codes when I run the crc 32 calc (Does it save to my desktop? Where are the replacement lines) I'm sure this is all gibberish to most, don't feel bad, it was the same 4 me just 12 hours ago. Pyro, demolition or anyone who can give me a little tutorial on steps 7 through 11 At that point, I will b able to load the file to my USB and confirm this project works for us 360 users.

If you use pyro's tool to unpack the db from your xbox roster, cant u then then just pack the edited db back into your roster and go?

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

My tool automatically adds the CRC for NHL14 on both PS3/X360. For NHL13, calc the BZIP2 CRC on the DB file using FileVerifier. Make a new file in HxD with the PS3 SYS-DATA header and copy/paste the DB. Then copy/paste the BZIP2 CRC to offset 0x28-0x2B. In HxD select offset 0x1C to end of file and calculate the CRC32. Put that number in offset 0x10-0x13.

For X360, open your con file and paste the DB from offset 0xD02C to end of file. Look at offset 0xD028-0xD02B and paste the BZIP2 CRC of the DB. Select offset 0xD010 to end of file and calc the CRC32, and put the number in offset 0xD010-D013.

EDIT: Scratch that. For X360 NHL13 I don't know the correct offsets to calc the CRC32 at offset 0xD010-0xD013. You'll need to compare it to the PS3 version which file ends with hex code "16 CF 0F B2".

Does anybody else get an Unhandled Exception error when loading the above xml config file in the Generic DB Editor?

Thanks for the info. I am new to this Hex Editing. Where exactly will I find offset 0x28-0x2B (is this different than 0-2B where I deleted the header from earlier). Also, where do I find 0x10-0x13. That is where I get a bit confused b/c HxD doesn't show a 0x__ when you highlight an offset. I hate sounding completely dumb here, and I do apollogize if I am missing the obvious.

Also, FileVerifier++ Will not recognize SYS-DATA file when I tried to open it in the program. This was after editing. It is not a DB file but I didn't need to convert it in order to edit it.

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

Wait, so pyro you're telling me all I need to do is unpack, edit and re-pack? No hex editing needed? Because I tried that and got the "not a valid package" message on modio. Btw, I saw someone posted about an unhandled exception message. Try a different computer if u have another or remove the programs and re-download. Hopefully that works for u, it did for me.

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

So, to change gears here... I'm trying to open the installed game files, they show up as 39 data files, 1 through 39, data0000,data0001 and so on.... anyone have any ideas about opening these?
