[*] Error: User ID needs to be 8 bytes.[*] Error: Console ID needs to be 16 bytes.[*] Error: Could not parse a global config file (error at line: 4).

Is this about the global.conf -file? Maybe I'm doing something terribly wrong here.

Leave console id as 16 zeroes (you can't get it without a hacked console). User id is listed when you click on a save file.

I downloaded the bruteforce stuff and generic ea db stuff, but don't know what I'm supposed to do. Where is the XML file? Where is the DB file?

Added option to export to csv
          Thank you DPyro!

Could someone confirm that if I select "CUSTOM" for rosters when starting a new GM Connected season, the game would pick up the latest EA roster update - regardless which version I downloaded on my PS3?

This helped a fair amount. However, after I extract the SYS-DATA file back to my USB to put it on my PS3, it says file is corrupt(when loading NHL13). The file shows up normally on the PS3 XMB and everything, but it only says corrupt once I try loading it in the game, what am I doing wrong? Cause I did every step you said.

One thing though...I noticed many guys pro teams are listed as specific teams even though they are free agents. Leafs for example, I have Bolland on the Leafs and his pro team is 28, but I released Connolly(meaning he's a free agent) yet his pro team is also listed as the Leafs?

Still don't know what this .csv option means?

This just gives roster makers the ability to review their work without going into the game. Not to mention saving hours of tedious work just to get the Overall attribute documented. Now in a few easy steps, everything is saved.

This is also useful when making trades in GM Connected. All the data is at your fingertips. There's nothing like having attributes in Excel.

Maybe it's because I'm on a very old computer, but I can't run BruteForce as an Admin... It only gives me an option to run it in Compatibility Mode with Windows.

                    Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

Exciting News---I wanted to let everyone know that it is possible to extract, edit and repack Be A GM files for NHL13 on PS3.I managed to do it using BruteForce, HxD Hex Editor and DPyro's DB Patcher. I had to create a config xml for the EA DB Editor. I found that there are many similarities in the field codes for the players and teams between the roster file we have been working with and the Dynasty files. There are also several different fields in Dynasty mode that have not yet been identified, as well as some that have been removed ie. calendars fo all the leagues.

Just an FYI. There are 3 DATA files for Dynasty (DATA0000, DATA0001, DATA0002) that must be decrypted and then merged in n Hex Editor before being extcrcted using DPyo's tool. After tha the DB fie can be edited within the EA DB Editor and repacked using DPyro's tool once again. You must change file name to SYS-DATA before repacking at his point, unless DPyro chooses to recode his program to recognize DATA0000 file name as well as SYS-DATA when repacking. Once repacked you change the file name back to DATA0000 an break the file back down into the DATA0000, DATA0001 and DATA0002, nce again using anHex Editor. Then re-ecrypt the files using Brute Force and place the complete file back into your PS3.

I tested this by changing a few contract lengths and Rookie status just to verify function and it worked for me.

Hey guys I'm stuck on step 4 in demolitionman's guide. After extracting the database using DPyro's editor and saving the DB File onto my hard drive, I open the Generic DB editor and from here I'm lost... When I try to load a config I can't find the DB File anymore, it won't show up under .xml, even though the CON File and Roster File still appear. Am I supposed to be using the DB File to edit in the Generic DB Editor or am I doing something wrong?

the config file is an .xml file, load that first.
                        then open your .db

I have the nhl14.xml included in the latest DB Editor.zip

What do I need to do in Bruteforce exactly to get to the db?

Which file do I load as an .xml (Roster, CON, DB)? As of right now there isn't anything saved for me as an .xml

If I convert said file to .xml using another tool would that work as well?

the xml is a config file for the editor. Download the one in the link I posted it has the xml in the folder.

Once you run the editor, then load the config, then load your db
