I hve been working on a config file for NHL13. I will post link to it in a little while. I have only broken out some of the the categories so far as there are alot of Data code fields tht make no sense until they are decifered. The roster DB ile you will have to create yourself from your PS3 save file. I will try to get some more info and he fileto you shortly.

I'm officially too dumb and too old to understand.

I'll wait for some sort of step by step instruction.

This is a config file (xml) for NHL 13. Open the EA DB Editor and File, then Load Config, then find the NHL13 file you down loaded and click open. After the config loads click file again, then choose Open and find the DB file you created from your Roster Save to load it into the editor. It will take a few minutes to pull up the DB and may even say that the program is "Not Responding". This is normal. unless you get an immediate error message when loading the Config or Db file, the program is running properly so give it a few minutes.

Okay, thanks to whomever it was that posted the step by step; I was able to figure this out, and get it to work. Absolutely incredible stuff here.

I have a question, and I'm guessing this might be possible with the DB editor, if I wanted to switch a few teams around, do you know which files I should swap. I was thinking of moving Milwaukee up to the NHL and moving another team down. I was thinking I'd just swap their team IDs?? But wasn't sure if I would need to go more in depth.

If you are working with NHL13 I want to let you know that it is not as simple as that. I have been trying to do this for some time (trial and error)so I can move Detroit to the east and Winnipeg to the West. There are so many lines of code that over lap from one feild to another which means it may take completely swapping all Team Info data from the teams you want to move. and then changing the Pro team & draft team info within the Player Info tab. Then you need to remember to swap the Retired numbers info as well in that tab.

It would be easier to swap the teams within the game before entering a GM mode. However, the problem I have come accross doing it this way is that any drafted/signed prospect that is still playing in the minors, does not transfer with the team when you move them. The team that you swap them with will end up with the other teams prospects,

I'll try that out tomorrow, and if it works...It'll make my roster editing for NHL13 alot easier. I don't care so much about getting players ratings updated, but making sure every team has the proper roster is the main goal of my updates.

                Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

For NHL14 on PS3, after each time you change something, do you need to save it, go in and patch the db, and then encrypt the sys-data file with bruteforce? The only reason that I am asking is because I've done some updates (roster moves, update nhl arena names, etc.), and it seems like the only thing that was saved was the arena names. All of the other changes I thought that I made, I had to go back in after looking and seeing that they were completed. Any help???

There has to be something wrong with what I'm doing cause I tried that XML file but the game still can't load the saved data I did.

                        NVM,got it to work!

Cool I can edit arena names too. Too bad you can't edit the name on the ice, but at least during pregame, the screen pops up and will now say things like "Madison Square Garden" instead of "New York Arena".

It seems like it's the % the arena is filled. Many are in 90s and some(like Toronto) at 100, so seems about right.

I wonder if you can edit arena boards and stuff too,put all diff ads(that are already in the game) around all arena boards)

I just tried it! LOL it looks AWESOME! Coyotes arena was set to 1, and now their arena only has several fans in it! Most realistic Coyotes arena ever! Later on when I got more time, I'm editing every arena to realistic numbers!

This tool gave my old NHL video game memories lol. I remember playing old games like NHL 2003 on my PC and being able to edit stuff like goalie masks, arena ice/boards,team logos and so on. This tool obviously isn't as good as those old PC mods(since you can't put your own custom stuff in it) but it's the next best thing!

                            Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

I am going to try to write a step by step walk through for editing a NHL13 roster file on PS3.

                            1) copy file to USB stick from PS3.
                            2) Transfer from the whole Roster file (ie. BLUS310030100) from USB stick to the computer.
                            3) Copy and paste that entire file from step 2 into your folder, of your choice, that you are reading your BruteForce files from, for extraction.
                            4) Open the BruteForce Application and select the file from steps 2 and 3, in the main top box of the BruteForce program. When you do this, in the bottom left box you should get 2 files that show up, PARAM.SFO and SYS-DATA
                            5) Single left click SYS-DATA to highlight and then Right click file to bring up option menu. Select "Decrypt PDF" and then click "yes" when it asks if you want to Decrypt the file.
                            6) minimize BruteForce and open the folder where you placed the file in step 3. Now open the BLUS310030100 (or whatever your save was named from PS), This Folder onces opened should show 4 files and a new text document showing decrypted files (leave that document alone).
                            7) Copy and paste the SYS-DATA in this folder (now Decrypted) to a new folder of your choice.
                            8) Now open the NHL DB Patcher v1.0 (By DPyro). and select NHL13 "Extract Database". find the folder and (SYS-DATA file you just moved in step 7 and click open. Now select a Temporary name for the DB file to be made and the folder location you want it placed in(this is just for editing as the DB Patcher will automatically rename the file back to SYS-DATA later for you).
                            9) Open the EA DB Editor and load the NHL13 config I posted earlier. After the config loads choose the open button under the "file option in EA DB Editor and find the new DB file you just created in step 8 (You may have to change the file type in the bottom right corner from *.MC02 to *.DB) once you find the DB file you created click open. The editor will take several minutes to load and may say "Not Responding" just ignore this and be patient.
                            10) Edit away!!! when finished editing click "save" under the "file" option in the editor. This will save your changes for repacking the file.
                            11) Reopen the DB Patcher and this time slect NHL13 "Patch Database". Select the Database you made and edited in the steps above and cliock "open". Now find the SYS-DATA file you used to create this DB file in step 8 and click open. The program will repatch the DB back to a SYS-DATA file (it basically overwrited the file SYS-DATA file you used in step 8.
                            12) copy and paste the new SYS-DATA file you just repatched (found in same location you moved the original SYS-DATA file to in step 7. Paste this file back to the folder used in Step3, which should have the text file showing which files were decrypted as described above (overwrite "Copy and Replace" the existing SYS-DATA file in this folder with the new one)
                            13) Bring your BruteForce Application back up and press refresh in the upper right corner. select your BLUS300030100, or whatever yours is named. and then left click onetime on the SYS-DATA file in the lower right box and right click to bring up menu. You should have an option now to "Encrypt PDF", select it and click "Yes" when asked if you want to encrypt the SYS-DATA PDF.
                            14) you area now ready to copy the file you just created back to your USB device, which should be located in the folder you used in step 3.
                            15) Transfer the file from your USB device, back to your PS3, you will need to overwrite the existing save file on the PS3 because it will have the same name.

The file shouild now work on the PS3 when you play NHL13. I recommend trying to change just a few contract lengths or amounts the first time, just to make it easy to verify if the work was done properly. Especially considering that some of the fields within the editor don't seem to have a direct effect on anything. I tried moving teams to different conference and divisions and it didn't seem to work as of yet. Best of luck to you!!
