NHL 15 Next Gen Thoughts...

My biggest wish is SCEA brings back the NHL Faceoff series. If for no other reason than competition.

EA, as stated has become so lazy and stale with the same copy and paste rehashed BS that many of us pay $60 for year after year like suckers because we love the sport of hockey. Plus NHL Faceoff was a wonderful game in its time.

What we as gamers need is for companies, monopolies, not be granted exclusive rights to anything, regardless of the price they pay to get said rights. We've seen it last gen that lack of competition hurts the end product. And with the power and potential of these new consoles, we need a true fresh start and a reason to try and push to be better than your competitors.

Has EA actually confirmed if they're even doing NHL on next gen yet? I hope so, certainly one of my favorite sports titles last gen.

bare bones game, with a rehash of NHL 14 mixed in for good measure.

Sorry, I have zero faith in EA's hockey department at this point.

I certainly hope so. All other EA titles are next gen.
And while I still have a PS3, I'm curious to see how they utilize the more powerful consoles.

I'm curious as to whether EAC was tasked working on the monstrosity that is NBA Live and that's why we didn't get a port. I can't see them wanting to start from scratch again. The game is pretty solid at this point.

Don't expect much. First generation games on a new consoles are almost always eye candy intensive. It's been that way for many years. The first actual NHL game that has anything new in it will be in 2015 not 2014.

That'd be stupid if true. They took a year off and didn't jump right in with a launch day game. There should be no reason why it can't be a complete game....

I agree. It wasn't a basketball or football game that was set to drop mid season. They actually have had over a year to develop '15 on next gen. An oddity and advantage.
