Adjustments & Finetuning Options
There are certain options that make a difference in gameplay. Use these to finetune the overall skating speed and style of play. Test different kinds of combinations, have certain sliders for what their intented to be for and use as many of these options to adjust the overall skating speed.

Tuner
1.00- laggy
1.01- better skating

Game Style
Hardcore- normal
Simulation- faster
arcade- higher scores

Attribute Effect
adjust for hitting/checking physics/more realistic gameplay.
6- bump and grind/some hits/better hitting physics
5- good hitting physics
4- a little too much hitting
3- hitting too much

The Overall Skating Speed
If its too fast players fall over each other, you skate circles around cpu players, too many hits/tackling. If its too slow, theres no pace, cant transition your pivots fast enough. Keep gamespeed and acceleration the same and adjust overall speed with any/all of these sliders/or ones above. The overall speed is different then gamespeed. Gamespeed is how fast the cpu players make plays/the action is, etc. The Overall speed is about the skating.

Puck Control

0/1- faster
5/6- slower

Injury
0- slower
1/2/3-faster

Post whistle rules
authentic- slower
relaxed- normal

anything goes- faster

There are some differences from nhl 15 and 16. We will make more adjustments to finetune overall speed when we have more sample size.

Seems like they fixed the hitting. This is one of the settings can help finetune the overall speed.

Having goalie screen at 5/5, makes the gameplay more realistic/on ice feel. Northman was the one who found this.

It makes a difference (in the gameplay) with the settings for what mode your in.

So whatever mode your actually going to use regularly, adjust/experiment in that mode.

Testing goalie reaction and screen at 2 and 4. Gameplay good but too many higher scores. Testing shot acc lower.

when you say
"The Overall speed is about the skating" are you talking about the player acceleration?

Re: Regulation Sliders for NHL16 (keep it simple)

You know what I like this. It's similar to something I was trying to get going on NHL 14.
I thought I had the sliders sussed last week until I realised that I'm a sucker for realism and what I had wasn't. Watching Montreal v Ottawa yesterday got me thinking again.

I think you have the speed nailed and I can't believe how much the passing marries up being set low too.

Just a couple of questions though. I do enjoy manual shooting so I can aim for an intentional redirect but the fatigue effect was causing players to shoot way off target at times. So I figure there maybe some balancing there for manual shooters.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I would always say that an NHL shooter is generally pretty accurate unless under pressure and likewise an NHL goalie can stop most things unless screened. It's just applying it to the game.

Either way these are pretty damn close. I was starting to not enjoy the game.

* also do you find that slider values have dropped in settings after a game? I had puck control at 2 and slap shot accuracy at 2 as you suggest but when I got back to the home screen they had dropped to 1. Quite frustrating.

Anyway cheers.

Re: Regulation Sliders for NHL16 (keep it simple)

Played a game with these last night. Won 3-2. I found that the fatigue recovery at 1/1 wasn't enough. My lines were all red just over halfway through the period. I noticed the CPU fatigue isn't the same as user. So I was getting blown by for the second half of each period. I think fatigue effect at 3/3 or 4/4/ and recovery at 2/2 is the sweet spot. Everything else felt ok. Still running with mine though. I'm getting more penalties called with a higher player acceleration setting.
