October 19th Tuner Update

Just start a play now online game and it will download the latest tuner set automatically. You don't even need to actually start the game. Just load up the team select screen. I believe going into Ultimate Team's main menu will also trigger the auto download.

Tuners are just EA updating the game on their own back end without needing to go through the first-party certification process that a patch would require.

As a new member of this forum, I do not yet have the option to send personal messages. So, I hope to extend my thanks here to jyoung for answering my question.

I have learned an XBox Live Gold subscription is required to gain the tuner updates. Fortunately, I had a 2-day trail code that came with another of my games and I used it so I could get this latest tuner.

What a difference it has made! My main reason for wanting to get this update was to hopefully get rid of the propensity for my defensemen to get stuck behind the net. The tuner is a godsend in this regard and I have noticed the defensive AI is not nearly as passive as it was out of the box.

I have another question...Will there be any patches to this game or will they always come in the form of tuner updates? I won't have access to XBOX Live Gold after tomorrow and it is why I'm wondering if they will come out with patches in the future that contain tuner updates. (I am not on online gamer and paying 60 dollars a year so I have access to updates for this game isn't practical/economical for me.)

The last time NHL 16 was patched was in September. If you're on Xbox One, the patches should download automatically as soon as you start the application.

I've been happy with the "out of the box" tuner.. but there are a few fixes in the tuners I was kind of wanting.

Are most using this latest tuner or have you gone back to "out of the box" tuner?

As an XB1 owner.. there is no going back once you get it unless you want to start all over again by deleting everything.
