NHL 19 Video and Details on Franchise Mode and the Revamped Scouting System

This year's new features look good at this point. Let's hope they also work in the game later on. I'm surprised they added fog of war because it's such a big change.

Still would like to see them fix other issues in Franchise mode and of course improve gameplay before buying the game.

As a Hardcore Fan, I know nearly all important players about minimum 2 years following drafts. So a scouting system is not important for me mainly. The possibility to watch free agents and players which I wanted to trade looks intressting when it works like it should. My main Focus as an Franchise player only are, that nearly all players have there real faces ( Face scan app for created players like Quinton Hughes or other ). Roster import ( I created some 100 players ) and roster sharing. Player logbook with stats from youth and named by Team names including trades during a career and for whom was traded. Hot and cold streaks. Negotiation button for trading. For example I asked for a player and the other Team told ne what they want from my Team. Can go three time way to and back to other Team till trade is finalized. To play with all Teams in one career if I want, not only with one. Calender review to open to watch past games in detail with scoring. Where is my Team history and stats to review after some played years ? More information about streaks during a game or other information about players. Missing many Jerseys. New real Goalie masks or a mask creator app. A random storymode to make this game feel more real.

The new scouting system and fog of war excite me. I feel like it will add more depth to a franchise for me, particularly the roster management side of things.
Custom rosters for expansion is a plus too.

It's not a perfect Franchise mode but an improvement on 18.

I don't know that I'll buy it right away but will look to do so as the season wears on.

Custom rosters in expansion are nice, but in the first year you get a complete new draftclass. In the end you have 2 2018 draftclasses. And you have to play in ccm jerseys... It's the little things ea doesnt care about. Look at 2k, that is how you do an Expansion mode

This didn't occur to me. That's pretty annoying. I wonder how doing an expansion draft and then an immediate rookie draft will work with fog of war.

Bought the game this year after also buying last year. Had no intention to originally, but the revamped scouting changed my mind. Absolutely hated the ridiculously thin and often seemingly random draft classes. After watching a couple of videos this week of guys with early access, it seems like they've sorted some issues. Watchlists are now useful. MOre information means more informed decisions. Even though there are some weirdly written 'Personality' sections in the scouting reports.

Now...........will they ever fix player's faceoff ratings not increasing. Something in me hates drafting a really good center, with a 63 FO rating that I know won't ever increase. "Say hello to the wing guy".
