That won't change, it all revolves around the 10 game limit to send players down before their rookie year kicks in. EA waits for that to happen before finalizing that first season roster set.

How can someone who has never skated in a game at the NHL level be only rated 6 points below players like Nick Backstrom and Jamie Benn. This why we rail about player separation.

Well, you COULD argue that Backstrom is underrated.* Man's got more dish than a gossip columnist, but he's perfectly content to fly under the proverbial radar.

How did they manage to get Jack Hughes in the game at launch? Non European or CHL prospects usually have to wait to play a game before getting added by EA don’t they?

These are probably test build rosters, before game goes to retail. At which point EA will probably remove any players not eligible to be on the rosters.
