Losing at a video.game isn't going to motivate me to drop a 100 or more. I have bigger priorities in life. But you're right....

I keep getting matched up with the same guy who has a 96 OVR. Everything except his chokes is maxed out and those are like an 80. I can't seem to beat him no matter what I do. Land more strikes, subs when he is gassed, nothing seems to have an impact that he can't offset by landing one or two strikes. My guy has maxed out standup but my strikes do nothing to him.

I feel you. Fought some dude yesterday who talked junk on the mic the whole time. He was awfull. Just spammed that jumping kick to the body or jab overhand. I couldn't hurt him though. I would light him up but he just kept walking me down because he knew. After the fight I look. He's a 91 ovr. I was using a 72. If we had even fighters he wouldn't last 2 mins...
Not even sure what to say anymore. I don't think this is what consumers thought they were signing up for with UT..

Well I play Diamond Dynasty on MLB The Show. Ppl can essentially pay money to buy a loaded team..Difference is that game is essentially a sim. Sure having a loaded team will help them.do better. But at the end of the day it won't hit and pitch for you. You still need some semblance of timing hand eye and skill...

Re: Ultimate Team is Turning Into A Cesspool

I think the main difference between UFC Ultimate team and the other ones is that it is 1 v 1. That 5-10 difference in fighters can make winning as a underdog very very difficult. Even if you focus your fighter in one area there's a chance the guy with the higher overall will be better at it than your fighter even if it's not your focus.

It's mostly just the difference between a team sport and a singular sport. But also with the auctions and other options in those modes give you options to make your team better. For example in Fifa if you spend your money smartly in the market you can put together a competitive team relatively quickly. If you add restricted tournaments into it you give people ways to gain coins and improve their team without having to grind agisnt opponents with massive ovr differences

Re: Ultimate Team is Turning Into A Cesspool

Could they not introduce a 'non ranked' mode within UT where match making is based on fighter level instead of division? There would be no divisions in this mode just quick fights.

Would allow people to earn coins and rank up without facing monster CAFS off the bat.

Re: Ultimate Team is Turning Into A Cesspool

Since players can be matched with a large range of divisions up/down, my preference for a fix would be this: Just match monsters vs other monsters, and they can compare builds. Match the folks without so much time/money invested with each other. I think I'd rather fight a div 7 player (around my fighter stat level) than a div 1 stats maxed player, no matter how many losses they have (possibly against other maxed dudes). And if they want to put more effort into it, they can have a toggle for folks who are awesome and don't mind a lopsided stat challenge. (They will essentially play others who toggle, or others who have similar stat level)
