I don't necessarily love that idea because I could see where people would pick the top guys in each division and the top guys would get used over and over again. I mean, would anyone ever use a Pat Barry, Pascal Krauss or a Darren Uyenoyama type fighter with that format?

While I like the idea of "owning fighters" and think it would be fun to keep up with their records/streaks and what not, I also recognize that it would be really difficult to keep up with a draft league; especially when the game is brand new and you have guys wanting to join or quitting unexpectedly, etc.

Ultimately, I'll go with whatever everyone else wants to do.

If we're going to do a draft we probably should do it on a weekend, or at night. I think most guys will be busy during the day.

How about we make the champions off limits ? You know kind of like in NCAA Online Dynasties where everybody have to pick a 3 star or below school. Because I also worry about only seeing the champions used majority of the time.

That's eliminating 9 fighters though. That's kind of harsh I think. I'm not trying be fighting the top dogs all of the time either, but I'm not against ever seeing them.

What if we go with 32's format, but you can only use the same fighter once every 10 fights. Unless you are the champion then you use him until you lose. Once you lose you can't use that fighter for 10 fights unless deemed worthy of a rematch. How would you guys feel about that?

I thought about maybe putting the fighters in tiers by weight class, but I don't know if there's enough depth in the rosters or separation in ratings to do that.

Another idea is Buddy could set up a couple of events at a time. Then do a random order and once a fighter is taken, then he can't be used again until the next set of fights open. You could even make a rule that each event has to be fought somewhat realistically. So say if you have the 5th fight on a card, you have to use guys lower rated fighters.

My third idea is for the draft league. Instead of drafting the full roster each user would only draft two fighters each. The other fighters would still be used but would be labeled as "open" rather than "owned". So an event would just set up an according to the actual fighters and users would fall in line accordingly. The set up is really hard to determine because it all depends on things like number users, fights per event, how often fighters can be used, etc. If you really wanted to get creative you could have rules like if a user lost a certain number of fights with one of their owned fighters, they would lose them. I'm just throwing out ideas at this point, I'm sure some of them would be difficult to implement.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea... I like the event card idea. That would probably be easiest.
