Why does everyone on here think Barboza has bad hands? He's got really, really good hands, it's just his kicks are utterly ridiculous. I agree that the stats should separate but think Diaz is a way, way better example of the issue than Barboza

ok his hand speed is good but power wise he doesnt have it, Cerrone exposed his boxing aswell as mchael johnson. If you give him too much space he will light you up with kicks but stay in boxing range he isnt elite.

And is it possible to have it back. Guys like Diaz have terrible kicks. Or someone like Dan Henderson.

It would definitely help a lot with balance especially considering the new combo system
I don't know why it was changed.

Cowboy was getting lit up in that fight before he clipped him, and Johnson landed 10 more strikes despite throwing almost double. My point is that Barboza is a good boxer and a great kicker, so it's not as horrendous if you grouped them together, but Nate is a legitimately bad kicker so grouping that into with his hands which are great creates a totally different skillset with Nate throwing lead high kicks off his jab, whereas Barboza with marginally more pop in his hands is still Barboza

I doubt the UFC would be in favor of this change, yet many claim the UFC is in charge of the ratings.

I don't think anyone's claimed the UFC is in charge of the format, just the values

That makes no sense. Either control the values or they dont.

If the format change, they had to change the values. Why would they be okay with making Nate Diaz a world-class kicker ?
