So they are just going to trash everything they've built on in the 3rd and go back to how it was in the first 2 games..?
If so just wow lol those games were complete garbage, at least UFC 3 had SOME semblance of realism.
I'm not really surprised though, anyone out there who put faith in EA thinking this game would be good well I don't know what to tell you except you are really gullible.

Unless whoever has taken over has completely undone Geoff's work over the last 2+ years, but i lets see i suppose. I really hope we get something that will blow EA UFC 3 and THQ Undisputed 3 out of the water.

Geoff said he was there for 90% of the development of ufc 4 so...

NO RATINGS!

I’m OK with ratings on real fighters, although I’d prefer we wipe out overall ratings across the board.

But for online CAFs, we should simply start with a baseline skill set that you can choose- Wrestling base, Jiu Jitsu base, Kickboxer, Boxer, Karate, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Tai, Sambo.

As you play and progress you can unlock additional skills to diversify your CAF.

Like NHL or All Pro Football 2K8, it’s not stat based. More badge Based I guess.

Just use the Perks from UFC 3 and level them from Bronze to Diamond: Heavy Hands, Marathoner, Counter Puncher, Dirty Boxer, Crushing Presence, Ground n Pound, Wrestle Clinic, Tai Terror, Guard Specialist, etc

So for example, if I bring my CAF into a fight, my opponent can see my top 5 Badges to quickly gauge what kind of fighter I am:

Bronze level “Heavy Hands”
Gold “Marathoner”
Gold “Guard Specialist”
Diamond “Tap Already”
Silver “Crushing Presence”

Right away, my opponent will be able to gameplan during the load up to the fight. And I can do the same.

The combinations of perks/badges are nearly endless. People can easily create specialists or well-rounded fighters. But it would all be within a controlled framework to eliminate OP CAFs.
All of this and the likes under it gave me cancer. Especially doing away with stats.

And I highly doubt they will remove stats. There's already the option to equalize stats for competitive play, so absolutely no need for that. It if's down to templates, you get the same rock-paper-scissors gameplay. No thanks.

It sounds like with the whole caf focused and unlockable cosmetics, like this dude's talking about ultimate team. I'd assume so... I really hope the whole game isn't arcadey, but I also think this guy in the video could biased towards arcadey stuff, so that's all he's focusing on yanno.. basically it's not coming from a dev himself

The system described is basically an alternative to traditional stats. On the backend, stats would still exist. The proposed system would essentially just make it so that all stat differentials are based around perks.

I think it's an interesting idea, and I'd like to see it elaborated on. I think it's important to differentiate fighter strengths and weaknesses, which stats obviously do. No one is asking for that to be taken away. It's just a different way of doing the same thing.

Doesn't seem that way to me.

First of all, it involves CAFs in Ranked. I hate that idea. Second, it embraces that idea and a lot of people seem to do so as well.

From there, he offers a suggestion on how to handle CAF stats — unfortunately, that suggestion includes screwing the actual fighters' stats. You know, the ones who are based on real life fighters and who have certain strengths, weaknesses, and styles.

That suggested system seems to be based on the system present in the LECs, except in the LECs there are perks added to already existing stats.

So instead of messing with Ranked, why don't EA just create another online mode where everyone can showcase their CAFs and styles and whatnot, and leave those who enjoy actual MMA and realism do so in Ranked? That way there's something for both sets of players instead of downright ****ting on a whole mode to appeal to casuals who don't give a **** that this game is supposed to represent an actual sport and just want to swing with Conor or with Spiderman.
