Have the devs explained why they stripped the ground game like this? How is this realistic at all???

Swaying and Posting are more effective at getting outta there quick as a successful sway or post can lead to sweeps, get-ups, or a quick posture control. BUT they are more dangerous if you get it wrong.
This is going to be a dumb question - what is 'posting' and how are you accomplishing this?

I don't think the system itself is bad. It's a lot deeper than it seems at first. What I don't like is the visual aspect, it gets way too repetitive with only hooks and straights and too many fights end like this.

It’s slow and strikes seem to be sluggish with no impact!!

I've been complaining about them removing elbows and hammerfists from postured up positions since the beta dropped.

Boggles my mind who makes these decisions. They are a major part of MMA, ESPECIALLY the elbows !!!!

Just ridiculous.. hoping they add them back in in a patch

Hold L1/Left Bumper and hold the right stick in the direction you think the hook is going to come from (right or left). You will put your arm up and impede the path of the strike.

Yeah sounds great and all except if you guess wrong once you're done. Meanwhile your opposition can alternate wildly and get cheap easy wins.

It's basically all of online ranked right now. Race to posture. Pathetic

Re: Your thoughts on GnP in UFC 4

The ground and pound still lacks some impact, especially the straight strikes, hooks are a bit better. Plus sometimes punches don't make a sound, making these KOs even more anticlimactic.

I'm not gonna judge the balance of it because I still suck badly and it could be an uneducated opinion.
Maybe there should be different levels of how dangerous ground and pound is, like from half guard should be a little more dangerous than full guard, from mount should be a little more dangerous than from half guard.

Right now many fights are ending with KOs from guard.
