The MT clinch is pretty weird in-game. IRL fighters are in MT clinch for like a maximum 2 seconds.

Exactly my point, fighters arent in the clinch for longer than two seconds normally in the middle of the cage. MT is used on the cage due to the lack of control

If some of these ideas are actually in the next patch I'm freaking out... and I am not even a grappler.

Re: MacGowan's patchable grappling suggestions

I'm gonna necro this thread.
We're looking at the end of the patch cycle, and the beginning of the UFC4 dev cycle. I feel it's important that we get a fun looking, fast acting grappling system either patched in late or revamped for UFC4.

I'm especially in favour of number 6. and 7.

We touched on a pretty good number of these, all things considered.

That animation could certainly be made into more of a late denial scenario, but just wanted people to know it actually is there

Awesome write-up, and very concise feedback!
There have been a lot of features like this that fly under the radar because it takes a lot of effort to learn how to play this game. Unless you have a friend to lab with I feel like its tough to learn the clinch and ground game.

The signals on which way to deny transitions was a great addition, but it would be even better if practice mode had:

grapple recording feature
reset to a specified position feature
set opponents and players stamina feature
set starting GA feature
restart practice feature

The more tools we have to learn the game the better.
