Yeah, i'm testing some right now. I'm going to remove the Defensive Awareness value; it is resulting in a lot of standing around, lol.

Headers, man - you're right - they are hard! Crosses in general. Although I scored a great header yesterday with Dempsey; it was legit.

Removed Defensive Awareness as an editable value. It affects defensive reaction to the ball, with it so low - the defenders/midfielders, would just stop in their tracks as the player dribbles by.

Testing Pressing @ 70.

Here is the most recent video. It is reflecting defensive line @ 100 (high). I kept everything that is on the front page. Amazing what a difference having defensive line puts it at. What is funny is that it doesn't even have that high of a line because by default the CBs retreat, breaking that line no matter what, with a high line - at least the retreat is compensated, making it look more realistic. Notice also how great the CPU keeps possession and still goes for the dagger

must say I played two extremely enjoyable games with these settings. Played with two ligue 1 clubs and two Mexican clubs. Both games were fun, exciting and felt real. The only thing I didn't like was that the high line was attempted to be exploited too often with long balls. Other than that, it felt good. Played on professional by the way.

Good to hear, man. Yeah, the high line is a give and take. I'd rather have the CB retreat from the midfield to the defensive third, rather than sprint all the way back into the box before he decides to confront the attacker.

It's refreshing that you are experiencing the long ball and different attacks. I will have to try professional as Top Player/Superstar are...pretty damn hard, lol. I just won my first exhibition match as Inter versus Lazio, 2-1. It was a great match, actually scored a header for the potential match winner.

Well, I got the PC version now and I gotta commend you Matt. To be honest, I didn't share the view that the competition is the last resort (the defense in that game is ugh), but I agree that base gameplay is far from perfect. Your settings make it a lot better and I think with more testing you will find a sweet spot very easily.

Few questions:

-What option file are you using?

-For ML, is it advisable to set the maximum value to "0" or "100" so that it does not increase over the years or with new prospects being created? That way we can ensure that they all remain at these levels no matter what.

-What gameplay settings are you using?

Hey DT. I think the core game play is on a good track. In PES 12, the main thing that noone could fix - even yair and nesa - was how far back the defenders dropped into the box - they would follow their man all the way into the box.

Now, pressure is there and the drop back isn't as severe. Combined with the settings - it all works out.

I'm using the PESEDIT patch, so their OF.

As a max value, I would say 0 or 1; players can still decrease from 100 - and I'd hate for it to go lower. Granted, I don't think it will be a problem - as the main factors edited are the team strategies/styles. So that helps. I know even when I let the CPU take over my game plan, the strategy/tactics remain edited.

Game play, I'm currently at 15 mins, Top Player, all manual, except shootnig and tackling assist set to "hard", also clearance to auto. I don't want this to be FIFA where I have to control all 11 players - so having the settings with tackling and clearance, makes the CPU complete obvious tasks.
