Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

I just ordered this a few days ago and they are coming to my house to install it on Wednesday the 6th. I got the U450 TV package, the 18 down internet and the home phone line. It came out to around $160 a month with discounts. How long does it take for them to install everything? They say they'll be here between 1-3 pm and said it may take up to 4 hours to install. Is that true?

My install from about 2 1/2 years ago took 6 hours, but they ran CAT-5 for every TV in my house.

I guess I've got the day off on Wednesday by default now!

Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

Someone should be out around 7-8AM to hook you up at the street, you don't really need to be involved, but the guy did come check with me and tell me he was disconnecting my DSL.

The install inside was easy as he just needed to run 1 line to the router/modem and then the TV was right there. I only had 1 TV hooked up as you get free install that way. It took about 30 minutes, but he had some problem outside at the box. If your house already has CAT5 or RG6 ran, it will be very quick.

It definitely doesn't. My house was built in 1897 (as were all of them in the neighborhood I live in) so it might take a while.

I looked into the U-Verse, because we currently have AT&T DSL, but it's not available yet...

I wish we had more reasonably priced high speed options in my area

Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

Well, I got everything installed today including brand new lines. It took around 3 hours and I tipped the guy a twenty spot.

The TV service is just okay as far as picture goes, but then again I have watched nothing but Blu-ray movies and played Xbox 360 in 1080p for the past 3-4 months.

However, my internet connection is much better now. Before today I had the basic 4 MB down but I only ever pulled about 2.75 MB at the most out of it. Now I have the 18 down service (the best they have) and it has consistently been pulling around 17.5 MB and I have been testing it every 30 minutes or so. However, my upload speed is only around 1.75 MB which kind of sucks.

Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

The internet is great. I had DSL 6.0 and rarely got more than 300 KB/s when downloading. Now with the 12 down I get just over 1 MB/s and with fast servers like VPNs, etc I can get 2 MB/s.
