“I was taught to love my brothers, and to hate the other side”- Juice “Stephen Jackson” WRLD WHAT A ****ING WEEK
Cudi and...Eminem have a song together, definitely didn’t expect that but it’s not bad. Em hitting us with “Got a little green, but I don’t do weed, purp nor lean, that’s Tunechi, that’s New Orleans, **** Drew Brees” was funny. Boldy deluxe, Fresh Veggies 2 even though 1 came out when I was like a sophomore in college and I haven’t heard from either of these dudes in years, shout out Aladdin though.
Hearing Black Thought take the “I am half Masta Killa and half Hugh Masekela” (which is a flip of a Phonte line from So Help Me God” reminder me we never got the Phonte BT supergroup we were supposed to.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Caught this on Revolt last night, missed it somehow when it came out, super dope.

"I can't kick it with the homies out, it's cops starin'
Can't walk the wrong neighborhoods, hi Karen
You focus on the riots, you gon' focus on the lootin'
You gon' focus on the violence, everything besides the shootin'"

He said he wrote it 2 years ago, and they just let him put it out. It's not on Apple Music yet, but the between verse footage is just so hard to listen to, I don't think I could play it too much anyway.

And new J.Cole songs. Plus, he apparently wrote an article for Player's Tribune a couple days ago: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en...e-the-audacity

The Climb Back is perfection, the beat, the lyrics, the flows, everything. The other track is nice but I really prefer that one. Q’s feature on the new Gorillas track is dope. I’ve just been listening to a ton of drill, it’s hard to transition to anything else from the energy.
DMX vs Snoop seems like a mismatch but from what I hear X held his own. He’s probably another of those you had to be there people. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of DMX is Party Up and I ****ing hate that song.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I think I've listened to X more over the past couple years than when he was putting out stuff regularly. I think it was easy for people to undercut his actual talent due to his persona and image, but the man has verses.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Oh my god, this new Drake feature. The first time I heard the British accent I was not into it. War and Demons brought me back. This new song I’m back off the wagon, mans has lost his mind. I can’t not laugh listening to this. First you get “look like Youssef”, then this guy actually gives an Arabic bar. “4 in the cliz and one in the headie, hand no shake man hold that steady, you man love pose with the ting for the picture, you man shouldve bust that ting already, you man love hesi hesi, can’t backchat to the presi, you know when the beef just taste like veggie”........Then the whole last part is just awful. This might be the most unintentionally funny song I’ve heard since Wayne’s comedy rap era.
