I think you might have judged "Parks and Rec" before it really hit its stride. Your analysis is right on, but only for the first season. This year the show developed its own unique identity, and I think has individual characters that are superior to "The Office". If you can get past the obvious mock-documentary style similarities, I think you'll find that "Parks and Rec"is not a poor man's version of "The Office" but is probably the funniest show on NBC Thursday nights this season.

I've watched it the past few weeks, only because it's on in between Community and The Office.

It's hardly the funniest show on NBC Thursday nights.

Two and Half Men pulls in better ratings than any of NBC's comedies and it is without a doubt one of the worst show on television. Ratings mean nothing when talking about quality.

For some reason I read your post as saying that if any show was in jeopardy of being taken off TV it was The Office.

My bad.

Ratings certainly aren't in indicator of quality. You're correct.

(And, yes, Two and a Half Men is one of the most overrated shows in television history... lol)

I still stand by my statement that Parks and Rec is awful, though.

Re: Community

It was funny as usual. I wasn't really feeling Jack Black on the show though, I felt as if they could have done without him.

The whole "death" scene with Senor Chang was hilarious though.
