I mean movies that are shot in 3D have a very cheap digital look for many reasons: depth of field, color timing, framing, etc. look pretty natural and okay in 3D, but when you look at the 2D image, you kind of yuck at it. I say the same thing for Avatar, even.

A movie like JP1 won't have this problem, because it was shot on film, shot with the intent of being in 2D, and was a post-convert. Heck, look at post #2 in this thread about how much I looked forward to seeing the 3D re-release (and I did, and I loved it, and I have the Blu-ray to back that up). I wasn't referring to 3D as being cheap, I mean the cheap look it gives off when a movie made for 3D is downconverted to 2D.

Just disappointed in the overuse of CGI is all. Wish there was more animatronics usage.
