Check him out in Mr. Holmes, who I believe was one of the first X-Men

I must be in the minority, but I liked Dark Phoenix. It clearly isn't in the league of Logan but I was entertained. Did feel like the villains were just terminators.

Re: X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Welp, I really enjoyed it.

If it was all one connected franchise, the end didn't lead into X-Men (2000) at all. And I didn't really care for the guy with the super-dreads, but other than that, I really liked the movie.

I liked seeing some of the different ways people used their powers, like Scott bouncing a beam off a car mirror.

Saw this last night. I'm kinda on the fence about this one.

1) First Class
2) Dark Phoenix
3) Days of Future Past
4) Apocalypse

Re: X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Finally got around to this. Largely entertaining, but a bit disjunct. Man, for as bad as that street battle was, the train battle was top notch. I didn't understand how "bad girl mind controller" was holding her own vs. Charles in the street battle. And as feeble Beast looked in that battle as well, it was good to finally see him unleash on the train, yet they've never been able to pull off his acrobatics ability. Emo Nightcrawler has to go. Quicksilver just got more annoying .... we need Marvel's Pietro back.

These stories where the characters are so overwhelmingly powerful are going to wear thin I fear. But this was certainly better than the last iteration. Better than DOFP? Nah.

Re: X-Men: Dark Phoenix

All the train stuff was part of reshoots, they added an entire act as part of reshoots last I read.
