There will be no NFL2k6 this year. A generic pro football title should be out next August for Xbox Next and PS3.

You've been around awhile Vader. You had eluded to a source about info on 2K6 and now you say next year is cancelled. How certain are you about that? How certain are you they will make a football game for the next gen systems?

I'm kind of surprised that you wharton (the host of the 2k site) are this negative/pessimistic, as are some other people about its future. I won't be surprised if it does get cancelled but I don't have a problem with people staying positive. If they can make 4 different baseball games where baseball sells maybe 1/3 of the football titles, why do people think only 1 competitor (to EA) in a pro football market can't survive? They will sell around 8,000,000 copies this year between both companies on all platforms but VC can't make enough money to keep on going? Heck, by cutting the costs of the licences and maybe dropping celebrity crib and first person football, they should still have enough resources to make a decent buck. Most developers would be happy to sell 300,000 copies and I think a generic game could easily do that.

From everything I've read it is looking more and more unlikely we'll be seeing any football game from TakeTwo this fall. I guess you could say we should stay positive but on the flip side if you don't expect it at all and it happens it's only a good thing right?

I just took time posting and linking in the (childish) espnvideogame forums a line from a baseball preview I just read with a little refference to what I feel is the upcoming football games and mentions EA. It is only one sentance but it got my speculation wheels a movin. Go to main board of OS and click on newest MLB 2k5 preview, you will see the line I am referring to.

Exactly. People can have their opinions and a lot of us are probably in a state of denial abut the reality of the situation but it seems a lot of people are getting angry or annoyed at those simply hoping for the best.
