I totally agree with you on that one bro, fortunately it looks like this version isn't the pos that EA delivered for last year's 360. I was really disappointed in that version.

It wouldn't make sense to get profit from a used game, they already got the profit from the person who bought it used. Anyways buying it used just means the consumer pays less for a used game. Most used games are ok unless they are scratched beyond belief/and/or missing manual etc.

Anyways I'm ready for some football and I'll be buying Madden on launch day as I've done every single year. No 2K sucks tho and I would buy it also if there was a version. I'm just glad that it looks like EA is bringing the quality Madden product that was on the current gen consoles to the 360. Less than 2 weeks away, I bet Madden sells the best this year over any other year.

Anyone have any updated info for the 2K series? It would be nice if like NCAA the players were right for generic teams and you had the ability to rename them and also edit every single function of the uniforms and helmets to actually get it just like the NFL. That would be a viable workaround and with the hardcore dedicated 2K fans out there someone would definately be up to the task of naming the players and editing the unis.
What does it have to do with priorities? People don't want to spend money on a game so they don't.

Actually, I didn't come up with the idea. I just took it from all these folks saying they were going to stick with 2K5 until the exclusivity deal is done.
LOL! Good luck with that! Now 2K5 was a good game but it had as many flaws as madden. It's beginning to be comical the way most of you treat 2K5 as the holy grail. It's NOT! That game needed more "homemade" fixes than a crackhead.

The way I see it is there really is no reason to boycott or stick it to EA in any case. They will pull thier projected numbers regardless. As much as I love 2K, I'm not gonna be a prick about it and neglect Madden. Cause for all I know, it may be a good game afterall. Will there be features missing that I want, oh of course but if you go in with low expectations, you may end up happy. Then of course if it sucks, than 2K5 it is. At least there is something to fall back on.

If the game is good cool, if it sucks i'll sell it on ebay as I did Madden 06 (360 version). My loyalty is how good the game is, not the company. Alot of you might think I'm a Madden fanboy because of my username but the people who have been on OS since the start know me as "MaddenMan who likes 2K better". It finally looks like Madden is producing a product that is more of a blend between the old maddens and 2k games, which imo is awesome.

No one is treating it like it's the holy grail but it is better than what is currently out.

I don't understand how people are coming to conclusions like this. The Madden 07 vids look awful, stupid, ridiculous - take your pick. Horrible cheesy animations ala Fever 2002, 70 yard bombs, same old no gang tackling game play, lack of features and modes and presentation...

What's so awesome? The stadiums? The hi-def look? The fact that people can play it on their new 360's?

Re: Instead of a boycott, buy Madden used

I'm having no problems not buying Madden, or any EA product for that matter. It doesn't make a difference, and it's not "important" in the way the crisis in the Middle East is important, but I'm not spending money supporting a company whose games are sub-par and whose philosophy (minimum change, maximum marketing) I don't agree with. I don't find it hard to resist buying a football game every year at all; I'm perfectly happy to play 2K5 until such time as a viable alternative becomes available.

Frankly, I think EA's marketing and the onset of the new football season is causing people to purchase a game they otherwise wouldn't, just for the sake of buying a new football game every year (as we've been conditioned to do by EA all these years).

Madden will continue to play like something other than realistic football until they add in realistic oline and dline interaction. As the cliche goes, it all starts at the line.

Without double team and combination blocking your LBs will continue to get picked off, something that all defensive schemes try to prevent. In addition, the defensive line doesn't properly defend the gaps or contain the edge, which results in the further weakening of your front.

The end result is what you see online where people are running schemes like quarters as their base defense because the game encourages and rewards unrealistic strategies.

I enjoy reading about all kinds of defensive schemes that are used by coaches on all levels of play, and often they get me excited to try to run them on videogames. Except that I never can actually do that on EA games because their player interaction is all one-on-one.

You simply can't play a gap control defense, and furthermore without gang tackling the game simply doesn't feel like real football to me.
