Can 2K Sports get the NFL License in 2012?

It'd be nice if 2k could get back in the NFL game....

I occasionally still play 2k5, and am still amazed at the presentation and gameplay on PS2. I'm left to wonder what could have been with today's console power. NFL 2k6- 2k10 probably would've been mind-blowing......


At the very least, make it generic ala Backbreaker, with an extreme editor to allow us to make it the NFL. So far, I don't see EA threatening to sue BB, and there are NFL edits all over the web.

Is it possible for 2k to re-release 2K5 for Next Gen? They could use the exact same game setup and rosters of 2k5, but with next gen capabilites like online play and graphics update. I dont know if its legal but it would be great idea.

I wouldn't call that crushed. 1 million sold is a pretty good number. Money made is diiferent too. They lowered the price to make it hard for Maddenites to pass it up. Had EA not got the NFL license 2k5 would have been the start of Madden loosing their grip on their diehard fans.

EA will keep extending their deal as long as the NFL will let them. Only the NFL and the NFLPA can stop EA now.

T2 should have made a generic NFL game instead of the APF2K8 game. City or State names is all I need with 32 teams. A generic 2K5

That would be a great idea. Idunno about the rules on that, but I mean Tecmo Bowl just re-released with updated graphics right? Although, every player on that roster is now retired so maybe 2k5 would have to wait about 10 more years....

NFL 2k5 is still better than Madden in many ways. I hope they start making football games again. Having a monopoly on the NFL license seems really unamerican to me, imagine how ****ty everything would be with no competition?

EA will probably retain the rights. Back when the exclusiveness was sold Disney made a small attempt to purchase it. Sometimes it isn't because of the money but the workability with the developer. EA and the NFL have a good relationship, I don't see that changing.

It's been over 6 years. Still not even half way there in my opinion. EA will spend their last dollar on that exclusive license. The number of people who buy Madden simply because they have to have their "NFL" fix is astounding. Just visit forums and read how many folks say that. "Well, it's not all that good, but I will buy it because I need my NFL football." Truly depressing. I would have no problem loving Madden if it was really any good. There are few football games that I feel are worse than Madden 11, and that really sucks.
