No NFL license but how about the AFL license?

Well EA doesnt want the AFL license anymore leaving it open for bids. So with 2k NEVER EVER getting back into the NFL game will AFL be the way to go. Givin the market and the excitment, if doen right I would get it. What do yall think?

I asked the same question and if 2K does get that AFL license... and with the arrival of Backbreaker, it would be a one two punch on Madden and EA Sports will be in shambles. That could be armageddon for Madden football cause they'll have to try to make a good video game and since they never tried before they will not be able too. It would be so funny if 2K and Backbreaker sell their games for 20 dollars with that gimmick while EA sells for 60... they would be DONE!

Why would they be done? They're the only NFL game on the market - and people want an NFL game. Madden is going to do just fine so long as they hold the NFL licenses - no generic game, AFL, or sideshow league game is going to do a thing to madden.

People will also continue to buy it because it's Madden. The name alone sells tons of copies.

I'm sure (atleast for Arena diehards) they could create a very classic AFL game, that would probably go un-noticed, I like the arena league but I'm not gonna drop 60 for it, maybe $20.

One Idea I had was how about 2k or somebody create a football game that is fully customizable...From stadiums and surfaces to uniforms to RULES.

Goto a 3 down game the CFL, take away punting like the Arena League maybe mix in some XFL rules. Select the lenght of the season, playoff format. Hell if I can't have an NFL alternative to Madden how about letting me create something from the ground up.

AFL was made before, I believe by EA as well? And as I recall, it was a bomb sales-wise.
Nah, I for one wouldn't be interested in an AFL video game; I don't watch the real AFL as it is now.......

CFL, on the other hand, maybe......

you are kidding yourself

it doesnt matter how good a game is if it isnt the NFL... heck even if it isn't Madden

Madden 2005 DESTROYED 2K5 in sales. It sucks but that's reality

Ill sing the praises of 2K football high and low but a arena or CFL game would hold no interest for me at all.
