Yeah, Dallas is the one team in NFL 2K5 where white is the default standard.

I know a trick on how to make the blue Cowboys uniform default. Upload the 1991 Cowboys, and when you're about to do a Franchise, remove all the players from the team and just put the Cowboys from that roster onto the 1991. Then when you go to Customize League, remove the Cowboys and replace the 1991 Cowboys into there. Wala, you can use the blue uniforms for home jerseys.

Re: I JUST FOUND NFL2K5 AND PLAYED--WOW!!!

just received my NFL 2k5 in the mail today, and i've got to say goodbye madden. the game plays such much more like real life. i just got done winning a game where i didn't score at all on in the first half. i always seem to score in madden, and it's nice to know that here the defense can actually be good. that's another thing about this game, playing defense is FUN! i've never had fun playing defense in madden because the other player, CPU or human, will always find a way to get a 1st down on 4th and 11 and crap like that. here the defense clamps down and when i tried going for it on 4th and 10 like i usually go in madden, and get away with, i was stopped right in my tracks. once i got used to the controls the game flowed so well. i can't believe i could be so in love with a football game, but this game has done it. i just wished i bought this game sooner. just thinking about what 2k could do if ea doesn't renew their exclusive license (monopoly) makes me all giddy. i know there's APF 2k8, and i've played the demo. it is very similar to 2k5, but i like playing with real teams. here's hoping that the nfl gets their heads straight and stops giving exclusive rights so we can see some real next gen football some day. until then, it's ESPN NFL 2k5 all day.

Re: I JUST FOUND NFL2K5 AND PLAYED--WOW!!!

I see this thread goes some ways into proving my theory that many Madden players have NEVER touched a 2k game. Including the hundreds of posters who say "it isn't that good", "it's only good in presentation" etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum.

Whenever I see someone say those things about 2K I'm willing to bet 1000 dollars that they've never tried 2k, or bothered to master the 2k control system, giving up after a game or 2 because it's "not Madden".

I guarantee you there are hundreds of guys on this site who have condemned themselves to playing Madden 06, Madden 07....until the next Madden comes out.

If you really love football, why would you deny yourself video football nirvana? Because you're loyal to who? John Madden? EA Sports?? I think some guys feel like playing and enjoying 2k would be like cheating on their wife!

If you really love football, and video games (why else would you be here?) and haven't taken time to master the 2K control system, you're cheating yourself. Come to the darkside, there should be some sort of National Flying Finn Day, he's an American Hero.

I dont even know where to start so ill start with this , i am new to these forums and forums in general. And although madden-bashing is fun and well deserved , ill save that for another time and place. I'll just say that i never liked madden or his football games just not my thing (may have something to do do with his man crush on favre and me being from the southside of chicago). I played super tecmo bowl until PS1 came out and then i moved on to the gameday series. i was still playing gameday 99 when i first played nfl 2k on dreamcast shortly after it came out. As is the case with mostly everyone else , from that moment i was hooked. I bought a dreamcast the next week and it was 2k football from there on out. I made the move to PS2 and continued to play 2k football religously , i eventually got online with 2k5 and had some of the most fun ive ever had playing video games period. I played online until the servers finally got shutdown ,after that and learning about the license agreement I pretty much gave up on football gaming altogether (stupid move). I got APF 2k8 when it came out but just couldnt get into it. I know I may be slow or late or a combo of the 2, but im just learning now that 2k5 is now backwards compatible w/360 and updatable via techniques in these forums. That being said i just ordered a copy of 2k5 for xbox and an MS trasfer cable and had them priority shipped ! I was wondering if some people more familiar with this process could give me some ideas or suggestions on which rosters, franchise , sliders to use and so on. If it helps i mainly just wanna play a season with the current Bears roster/ schedule and i play realistically with them ( defense and run game oriented , punt on 4th down etc). Also remember i havent played this game in about 3-4 years. Any suggestions , comments , tips , secrets, criticism or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all that take the time to read this and especially to those who helped keep this game alive. It is (IMHO) the best video game ever made , period !

Re: I JUST FOUND NFL2K5 AND PLAYED--WOW!!!

yeah as I said before this game is better than ANY Madden I've played in the past. My ONLY complaint is the multitude of wide open drops and its nearly impossible to hold on to the pass if you get hit after touching the ball. yeah big hits can sometimes jar a ball loose, but not as often as this game makes it happen. Keep in mind this is with the default sliders and uping the WR Catch and Passing sliders seem to help tremendously.

If a 5 year old game is this good, just imagine what they would have been able to do if they made an NFL game today.

hopefully this will be the last of this exclusive B.S. and other companies will be able to make NFL games and NCAA games as well; although from what I heard 2K's NCAA games were not that good.
