Ah, the season of mixed messages.

I'm still more geeked up about ESPN than Madden right now, though I remain skeptical because of year's past.

Franchise mode, owner mode, first-person mode, crib mode.... None of that crap has ever sold me on a game. It's cute, but not what it's about.

The one that plays the best game on the field matters. The rest is mere fluff.

EROD is right....the bottom line is how the gameplay on the field feels in the users hands. Thats the foundation a solid game. Last year's version of Sega's football played a more interactive and immersive game of the sport, even with its glaring glitches ( lack of the sack, the CPU QB's ROBO read abilties, and the lack of a realistic downfield cpu passing game )

If they can clean those areas up, we are in for a football frenzy treat! Madden's owner mode is nice but it's the authentic and distinct team playbooks, interactive stinging hits and powerful inside running game down in the trenches that will win my heart on the battlefield everytime!

finally what seems to me like a fair review. That's what I been telling people. Franchise mode will be better in Madden and they got the Owner's mode but ESPN will have better play on the field.

I totally agree, I made a post about this in another thread about some guy saying madden was better cause it has more modes. Actual gameplay is all that matters.
