Re: Who\'s going to be playing ESPN NFL in high definition?

I have a 30" widescreen HDTV. It only supports 480p and 1080i.

Therefore, im hoping the next generation of systems supports 1080i and not 720p.

DOWN WITH 720p!!!!

I don't have HD, but I'll probably take it over to my dad's house next time he's on vacation. He's got a 65-inch Sony XBR HDTV 16:9.

I play on 50-inch Hitachi 4:3 with Sony/Klipsch 5.1 surround. Can't wait to hear first person mode in 5.1.

Re:

The thing with the 1080i situation is that if the game is running in say 720p or 480p, it will be converted to 1080i (Or at least I know that Advent HDTV's do auto convert, I don't know if that's common or not).

Even though there is documentation that 720p is superior in resolution to 1080i, for those who are unfamiliar with HDTV, you won't care. At 1080i the picture is going to look and far above that of your regular A/V output signal. Of course, you'll need the XBOX HDTV pack.

When you see it, you'll be pleased.

Re:

So how many people can't play 720p games on their HDTVs because their sets can't convert 720p to 1080i?

I'll be playing mine on a peice of crap hand-me-down TV. It really is pathetic if you look at it. But I survive, considering it has good quality graphics for a peice of crap TV.
