Microsoft is looking for a software development engineer to lead the development of next generation A.I. that will power Xbox 2 games. Particularly, Microsoft is looking for someone to help with sports A.I., as this job description suggests:

Microsoft Sports Studio is looking for a development lead with a passion to create cutting edge Artificial Intelligence systems for the next version of the Xbox. These systems will crunch through millisecond-by-millisecond decisions that real-life players make on the field while planning ahead for that next surprise play. They will allow users to become the best-of-the-breed players in the league, yet continue to challenge them play after play. The systems do not merely react to the user’s input, they anticipate and adapt. Games will no longer rest on the shelf because they have become too easy to beat.

Hopefully, the games of the future will have bots that you won't be able to distinguish from real people whey playing online.

Kinda my reaction to this too. It's a PR blurb. It's kinda like a presidential hopeful saying "We're gonna have really good foreign policy under my administration." No specifics, and the blurb itself will be forgotten by almost everyone (especially the presidential hopeful) in a year's time.

They didnt make a announcement. This is no stunt at all only Sony does that. They posted this in their JOB section and are REALLY looking for somebody who can handle it.
