it's also a comfort level. think about it. if you HAVE to play a college football game you'd be crazy not to get NCAA. You play the hell out of it, get used to it's feel, it's button layout, it's little tricks. Then it's time for a pro fix. sure, many of us around here are willing to go through the growing pains of learning or relearning/adjusting to the difference when playing ESPN but not even considering which pro game is better in terms of gameplay, it's easier for most people to play madden b/c it's different but pretty much the same. the buttons are the same, the play screen is the same, the momentum, player movements, way you read patterns, etc. i haven't gotten into the big debate about Sega/ESPN putting out a college game but you could just look at things this way and see that having one could definitely help increase the popularity of its pro counterpart... even if there wasn't a way to import draft classes.
