I own both Madden and ESPN, many people say ESPN presentaion is the best(wich it does have the edge), but Why the Hell does the crownd in ESPN sound like **it, The are dead like almost the whole game accpet on touchdowns, now isn't the crowd apart of presentaion, if so I think the crowd nosie is second tear compared to Madden. Anyway thats one of the problems with ESPN.

Neither Madden or ESPN seem to get the crowd involved. The only game that I've come across that has been able to get the crowd involved was NCAA 2005. They did a great job of making the crowd a factor in the course of the game and in the outcome. I'd like to see ESPN try and capture some of that spirt.

I agree it's a problem but some will tell you that crowd noise is part of atmosphere and not presentation. But, yes, it should be fixed in next years game.

Agreed on this...But In my opinion Maddens crowd is louder but on the other token I don't like it..Not one bit...I'm the visitor and I noticed they were loud on my touchdowns.

I just crank the crowd noise up and the announcers down a few notches. It sounds pretty good to me in 5.1.

I also like the custom First down sounds that are stadium specific.

It could definitely be more interactive though.

One nice thing is that the crowd is pretty smart.

they boo the opposing team when they score and even when your team makes a bonehead move.

they cheer VERY appropriately too.

They could use some chants like in Live '04 though.

Don't even go there with the crowd thing. Maddens crowd look like Skittles.

Hey guys, when I first got the game I was complaining about this too until I set the crowd slider all the way up as a base and then set all the other sound sliders around that and believe me the crowd is in there. It's just that a lot of the ambient stuff is subtle.

Start with TV Broadcast settings then:

Crowd - MAX
Broadcast/Announcer - default
PA - 1 or 2 (if using headphones)
2-4 (if using speakers)
Everything else - 1

These settings to me sound pretty close to a TV broadcast.
