unable to load rosters with action replay

Hey guys , a friend of mine has the action replay and he can load vips just fine but replays or rosters aren't able to load, it says unable to load, it downloads onto the memory card that came with action replay just fine, and the espn game reads the file off the memory card as it has the name but when we try to load it, it says unable to load, we tried about 12 or more different rosters so i don't think the roster filewas bad but is there something else you can do, like i said we downloaded vips just fine and loaded them and i would of that you could do the same with the action replay, keep in mind we didn't get any instructions so there may be a step we are forgetting, thanks for any help guys
