Re: GR18 ROSTER/FRANCHISE UPDATE V3 7/20

I just played Lions at Saints and took the Saints to see how computer Stafford would do.

I won the toss and took the first drive for a td.Brees was tearing 'em up.Suprisingly Stafford completed 7 out of his first 8.He started to come back to earth after while but kept the game close all the way.Saints won 27-21 but momentarily was down 21-20 in the 4th after I threw a swing pass intended for Bush that Philip Buchanon came up on and took it to the house.

Brees ended up 23-36,3o3 yards,3 td,1 int.
Stafford-22-38,229 yards,2 td,2 int.

Not much in the way of running stats as both teams were under 100 yards.Calvin Johnson was a beast though, with the strong-armed Stafford he was difficult 1-on-1.Johnson had 11 catches for 137 yards and 2 tds.

I'm glad to see your results Dophin.I see Brees was a little off but it was a good game.Out of the 9 games I played week 1,I had 3 computer qb's that were below 40%.Cassell at the Ravens,Quinn at home against the Vikings, and Garrard at Indy.

Overall through 9 games computer qb's combined are throwing a little under 52%,brought down by the 3 bad games.Suprisingly, only 12 picks through 9 games.

Just wondering, what sliders do you use and would these rosters be good for 15 minute sliders?

Gotta say, I've been doing a lot of tweak experiments over the past week and from what I can tell, the accuracy of your rosters is phenomenal!! The only additions I made to round up all the rosters to 54 was TE Owens to the Jets (since he listed as 2nd team) and DT tackle Boschetti to the Raiders (since I didn't see another position that needed any depth.

I also upped leadership to 127 for every major position for the guys listed on footballguys.com (took a liberty or two for a couple of players). Thanks to the guys in the Football forum I upped the offensive line "anchor" guys (1 per team) as well. So I need to see how these now play. (I'll send them to someone if you're interested, but I'm not going to post them.)
Thanks again GR for kicking off my 2K10 season!!

addendum: Initial cpu vs. cpu test was interesting. I did a test game, but didn't get to watch it. 8 min. qtrs. NE beat Indy 31-7. Brady passed in the mid-60's% for a little over 300 including 155 yds to Moss and had 1 INT. Colts only score was in the 4th already down 31-0. Manning was in the 40's% and threw 2 INT's. Addai had a 25 yd run for their only score.
Great to hear!

As far as the Colts-Pats, ouch!

It does seem that when a qb gets into a 'must air it out' situation, the incompletions pile-up more.Garrard was going over 50% against me until I got 2 scores up late, then he was 1 for his last 8.

I'm not sure about 15 minutes.I play 7 minutes.I have a thread further down the page that has sliders suggestions first page.I'd try these and adjust from there.I tweaked my own a little from those but it will give you a good base to start.

DOPHIN26's LIONS FRANCHISE: Game 2 vs Vikings

DETROIT LIONS: 29
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: 27

Game two was even closer that game 1 against the Saints. Stafford was off most of the game, but Kevin Smith picked up the slack and helped stave off the Adrian Perterson onslaught.

Once again, the computer opponent couldn't pass and I think that is because of the pressure on Rosenfels. The blocking needs to be upped a little bit.

NOTABLE STATS:

M. Stafford: 17 of 35, 161 YDS, 2 TDs, 1 INT
S. ROSENFELS: 8 of 23, 142 YDs, 1 TD, O INT

A. PETERSON: 14 RUNS, 264 YDS, 3 TDs
K. SMITH: 23 RUNS, 130 YDS, 0 TDs + 6 REC, 22 YDs
M.MORRIS: 9 RUNS, 88 YDS, 1 TD

C.JOHNSON: 6 REC, 70 YDS
B. BERRIAN: 2 REC, 58 YDS, 1 TD
B. PETTIGREW: 2 REC, 27 YDS, 1 TD

E. HENDERSON 12 TACKLES
E. SIMS: 2 SACKS

LIONS ARE 2-0

So far, so good. I've had to work for both wins. I am not too happy about the computer's passing %, but we'll see what happens down the road.

BTW- I'll move this to it's own thread...

What do you have the computer blocking slider on Dophin?I put it on 40 and have trouble getting consistent pressure most of the time.I also try to load up to defend the computer running game which may lead to a more consistent computer passing game when I play.

I can understand Rosenfels, though, but hopefully the better ones will do more.

I have it set at whatever you had it set at when you posted it. I haven't touched the franchise, other than adding the photos for a few guys, adding Dan LeFevour to the draft class, and makng the Lions the only team I control.

Marion Barber was running all day on me. He was busting out at least 20 yard runs with ease. I was the eagles. It could be rust though.I been playing APF for awhile, and haven't touched 2k5 sinces then.
