The thing with this situation is we don't know how long Peterson will be out...

If it's just one game, neither is really worth getting.

If it's 2-4 games, I like Asiata.

If it's longer, or potentially a year suspension, which I highly doubt, I think McKinnon.

In my league, I picked up McKinnon and Asiata went unclaimed. My theory is if Asiata is on my team, he probably never plays. He's going to get 15-20 carries for 60-75 yards and probably a 30-40% chance to score. If McKinnon gets 15-20 touches, the sky is the limit.

Is your league PPR?

Standard League, 10 teams
Limit 5 WR's on your roster
D. Thomas, J. Jones, V. Jackson, G. Tate and K. Wright

Would you drop any of these to stash J. Gordon? I initially dropped Wright but then found out that Gordon might be suspended for 10 games, so I dropped Gordon again for Wright, lol.

Should I look to stash Gordon? Currently on waivers there are names like Hearns, Malcom Floyd, Streater, Hester, Quick, Wheaton, Hawkins etc.

I just figure with the roster limits, there will always be a serviceable WR5 on waivers, so maybe I should just stick with Gordon all year. But I go back and forth.

So you have 3 receivers that could basically start every week with Jones, Jackson and Thomas. Donīt know the bye situation with this guys, but I donīt see a matchup where you would sit 2 of this guys for Wright.

With this said it doesnīt look like you could need Gordon, I would look for a sleeper on another position then wasting the spot for Gordon. No one knows when he will return, all rumours by now.

Thanks for the response!

So my logic is that V. Jackson is so dang inconsistent if or when Gordon returns, he'd instantly become my FLEX.

I would love to upgrade other positions but I think I'm set at RB (Lacy, Vereen, J. Bell and Ivory) and there aren't many waiver options at RB. Plus the roster limit for RB's is 4

Basically it comes down to am I willing to sacrifice a roster spot and Kendall Wright to have Gordon for maybe 4-5 games in fantasy playoffs...

Okay, doesnīt look like one of the RBs would be a good FLEX option in most cases so I understand your thought.

I have a really high opinion on Jackson and I have the feeling that once the Buccs offense clicks he will see a good amount of points week to week. The playoff argument is of course a good one: What about the matchups for the Browns at this time? If they are some of the bad pass defenses I would consider the drop.

Even with that list, whoever you drop will be the best available. Wright's much more valuable in a PPR so I'm not sure if that says anything.

Personally I would leave Gordon be. At best he'll be out for 10 weeks. At worse he'll get dinged again after going to court for his last DWI case. Somewhere in the middle, he takes a couple of weeks to get back up to speed with things after sitting out for 2/3 of a season.

He's got a ton of potential but when the bye weeks come you're going to want that spot on your bench.

Re: 2014 Waiver Wire Pickup Thread

I should have visited this section of OS sooner. This is my first year doing FF. In a standard 10 team ESPN league. No PPR. I think I did pretty decent for having the last pick in the draft. But I see one of the other guys who is new to Fantasy dropped CJ Spiller before week 2 started, he's set to clear waivers Wed and I'm thinking I need to jump on that given how my RBs have looked so far this year. I was thinking of dropping either Pierre Thomas or Steven Jackson. Any suggestions on how to go about with this roster?

QBs

Andrew Luck
Jay Cutler

RBs

Doug Martin
Frank Gore
Ahmad Bradshaw
Darren McFadden
Steven Jackson
Pierre Thomas

WRs

Demaryius Thomas
Larry Fitzgerald
Mike Wallace
Steve Smith
Allen Hurns

TEs

Martellus Bennett

D/ST

Denver Broncos

K

Nick Folk
